I was reading a reply below asking if churches offer home schooling. Here in my area there are home school cooperatives. You can find a lot of them through churches. I used to take my daughter to one for music. They offered a lot more classes than that. Check around your area. :)

Last year, my husband and I decided to take our 8-year old boy to homschooling instead. The church where we attend has homeschooling program already and we were happy to enroll him there. The Master's Academy is one great homeschool. Now, school is spelled F-U-N for our little boy.

Thank you for this group. I have taken my youngest son out of the school he was attending and have (through much prayer) decided to homeschool him for the remainder of the year. He is 5--and doing great. I have had him home for about 1 month now...and we are still sorting out our schedule...This is all very new to me. Thanks for this great group....Somewhere someone here said that homeschooling is an adventure..I can see that already. I would love some advice and techiniques from any of you, as I have a lot to learn regarding this. This would have not been something I would have ever seen myself doing, but already we (my son and I) are both loving it. He has improved in many areas...mostly his attitude and behaviour. There are still lots of bugs to work out.. :) But, we begin our day with devotionals and an age appropriate bible study...It sets us off on a good start. Blessings, Carla

Hello All,

I never knew that this group existed till I took time to read (more closely) my sister Actual Maureen's page. I am glad I did...for it explains why I joined...and am happy for at least there appears a future for my kids after all.

I come from Kenya, a country where home-schooling is foreign. Just in the last two weeks alone, we have had over forty school go on strikes...with students burning down dormitories resulting into at least six deaths not to mention the destruction of property! The devil is up against our kids...truly. He knows they are the future church...

I shudder to think that one day my kids will share classrooms with 'hardened' non-believing students who know not God! Even the teaching standards in all public schools in Kenya have fallen to an all-time low. Where shall we run to, dear friends?

I would like to learn as much as I can about home-schooling (God's way) for surely, if we cannot separate our kids from the mainstream rot, they will perish together with the world. Anything that can help me find direction will be appreciated. At present, only two of our kids go to school (Gracy aged 6 and Sydney aged 4.5). At their level, it is still relatively ok...but kids grow so fast. Kindly assist-Pst. Bernhard C.
