Proverbs 3:13

How blessed is the man who finds wisdom

And the man who gains understanding.

We need to have patience, integrity, and confidence that God will show us what to do:)

1 John 5:14-15

This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. 15 And if we know that he hears us—whatever we ask—we know that we have what we asked of him.

The emphasis here is on God's will, not our will. When we communicate with God, we don't demand what we want, rather we discuss with Him what He wants for us. If we align our prayers to His will, He will listen; and we can be certain He will give us a definite answer. Pray with confidence!

Ephesians 1:18 Pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which He has called you, the riches of His glorious inheritance in His holy people, vs 19 and his incomparably great power for us who believe. That power is the same as the mighty strength.

In Paul’s fervent prayer for believers’ spiritual sight, we see how important it is to fully appreciate all that God has done and will do for us through Christ. He prayed that the eyes of our understanding would be enlightened that we “may know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints” (Eph. 1:18).

Each believer has been given new eyes to discern spiritual truth. As we keep our hearts tuned to God, He will help us to see with our spiritual eyes all that He has given to us in Christ.

Psalm 37:23-24

23 The Lord makes firm the steps
    of the one who delights in him;
24 though he may stumble, he will not fall,
for the Lord upholds him with his hand.

When you think your going to plunge into the depths of the abyss, the Father's love, care, concern, Scriptures, servants, and helpers keep you from destruction. God's hand upholds you. He is there in times of trial. He has been mighty to save. He delights in my journey.

The Lord leads us the way to Him in righteousness.

(",)    I knew how the discussion here will go... and yes, I agree to all that has been said about God taking away what HE has entrusted to us for the time being. To test our faith, to rebuke us for being diverted from our focus on HIM, to give us something better which our limited mind and perception may not be aware of yet. That is all true... I read all about that in the Bible and in some spiritual readings. BUT... it still hurts, does it not? It's still all confusing, right?  My heart and my mind is still unsettled despite all these answers and assurances.

I just lost my Mother to Cancer last week. She passed away January 29, 2013... and after being the one who took care of her physically, being by her side since the start of our battle with her disease in November... I just can't help but feel, I am not done with the fight yet. I still have strength to take care of her and help her get better if  God will only help me.  I was getting to be an expert in being in and out of the hospital with her... I have been crying out for HIS Mighty healing powers but I guess HE has other plans that I still do not fathom at this point.  I thought God would use the man I believe HE has sent to me as my mate since the beginning of time to ease my pain and comfort me, at least get diverted from the sadness and loneliness... but HE has withheld our chance to be together in this trying time of my life.    Well, who knows the mind of the Lord, right?

I do not know what to pray for. I am inconsolable. My earthly being feels so alone and it seems that I have no one to comfort me. I know I am never alone because God will always be with me... nonetheless, the feeling of desolation is there. I can only pray for better days to come.  And yes,  despite the feelings I carry... I am hanging on to HIS grip. HE knows what is best for me, I only wish I get a glimpse of what it is so I can feel peace in my mind and in my heart.

“The LORD gave and the LORD has taken away; may the name of the LORD be praised.” (Job 1:21)
It means that everything we have belongs to God, and he gives it to us to use for good. We must never believe though that we truly own anything, because He can take it away, not always as a punishment but often because we are treating things as if they are more important than Him, or we are not using them for the reasons we are supposed to. The quote is from the book of Job.

So... it is written... God gives and God takes back.  I am not sure if this is what is happening in my life right now. Please explain in what contexts should this verse apply, and how can one accept this without thinking it as anything but even slightly cruel?

Luke 6:37 Do not judge, and you will not be judged. Do not condemn, and you will not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven.

Forgive, forget, forsake bitterness, and move forward. As you do, He will fill you with His Spirit; He will give you a loving, tender, compassionate, giving heart; He will make you a stronger, better person; and He will be able to use you as a vessel of His love and a pillar that others can lean on. In other words, He will make you more like Him!
