Hi folks:

HealingPRAYERs is intended for a group of commited souls to jointly pray for a fixed number of individuals that need our prayers for healing. A new list will develop each week, beginning on Mondays. Your own names can be added to as many weekly lists as you like, on the condition that the prayer-request lists do not exceed 10 people. The only reason I decided to limit the list is to make it easier for the folks praying to remember the names and the needs of each individual during their prayer sessions. This way, our prayers will be more personal and meaningful. Please also limit the requests for prayer to people needing healing; after all, that is the purpose of this very special group. Thank you for your cooperation. Oh, and there will be chances to join in some fasts for healing, too. I will post in advance when the fasts will take place.

There will be a thread in the discussion forum labeled "prayer requests." Please list one person, someone you know or yourself, who needs healing. Let others also post a request, up to and not exceeding ten requests with a short description of the health need. Finally, I eagerly ask that each group member participate in praying throughout the week for the health needs of those presented on the list. This won't work out if we all want prayer but none are willing to pray for the needs of others. Try to think of this as a service challenge...how service-driven are we in our walk with Jesus? Ok, let's get started! and Welcome! :-)

The Only Thing
That Counts

TODAY’S SCRIPTURE

“The only thing that counts is faith expressing itself through love”
(Galatians 5:6B, NIV)

TODAY’S WORD from Joel and Victoria

So often, it’s easy to get caught up in our to-do lists of life. You might even have a spiritual checklist in your mind of all the things you think you need to do in order to please God. And we should have the desire to please Him and follow His commands, but pleasing Him starts with our heart condition. Scripture tells us in 1 Corinthians that only faith, hope and love will last into eternity. We can’t have faith unless we first have hope, and our faith won’t work without love. The point is that we have to remember to adjust our focus and make sure that we aren’t just going through the motions in our spiritual walk. We can do a lot of “good” things, too. But if we don’t have love, they won’t matter in eternity. We can have a lot of knowledge, but if we don’t have love, it won’t do us any good. However, when love is the foundation for everything we do, it honors God and opens the door for the life of victory in blessing He has prepared for you!

A PRAYER FOR TODAY

Father God, thank You for Your blessing and peace upon my life. Today, I choose love, knowing that it fuels my faith. I don’t want to go through the motions; I want to love the way You love me. Show me ways to grow in love as I keep my heart and mind fixed on You. In Jesus’ Name. Amen

O HOW I LOVE YOU O HEAVENLY FATHER

Begin with the Lord's Prayer

Begin with the Lord's Prayer
by Marci Alborghetti

The Lord's Prayer is the only formal prayer that Jesus offered us, the prayer He gave to His disciples when they asked Him, “Lord, teach us to pray” (Luke 11:2–4). Every time you feel you can’t pray, you can start here, with the one prayer given us by our Lord. And since it is literally the Lord’s prayer, a personal gift from Jesus to each of us, we should offer it back to the Lord as a personal gift, embracing the meaning of each line as it reaches out to gather us into Christ’s waiting arms.

Our Father: Lord, help me to remember that You are my Father, a caring Parent Who will love and protect me much more than any human parent.

Who art in heaven: Heaven is Your home, Lord, and I thank You for letting me see glimmers of heaven every day here on Earth, in sunrise and sunset, in thunder and lightning and rain-bearing clouds, in the oceans with their rippling waves and tides and the rivers flowing into them, in roses and irises and snowflakes.

Hallowed be Thy name: Father, let me honor Your name in my every word, action, thought.

Thy kingdom come: Let me remember, dear God, that this world is only temporary, that Your glorious kingdom will indeed come. I long to be swept up into it.

Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven: Father, in this world, we are often so far from doing Your will as Jesus revealed it.Help me to live my life according to Your will and help make Earth more like heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread: God of abundance, thank You for providing so generously all that I need. Remind me to share what You provide for me so that all may have their daily bread.

And forgive us our trespasses: Without Your continuous forgiveness, Lord, where would I be?

As we forgive those who trespass against us: I should be more forgiving, Lord; show me how.

And lead us not into temptation: Father, I often feel that I’m being tried. Help me to remember that my small trials are nothing compared to those of Your Son,my Brother, and give me the strength and faith to persevere.

But deliver us from evil: Dear God, intervene for me because I am weak, and without Your deliverance I am like a lost and wandering child. Draw me safely into Your protective embrace, Lord.

Amen: You, Father, are the final amen, the way, the truth, the life.

Day 11: Seeing the Unseen

Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see. Hebrews 11:

Vision. That’s what faith is all about—vision to see beyond the bleakness that surrounds us to the brightness of better days; vision to see the possibilities, not just the problems, in people. Vision to believe…and wait. If you are struggling with an “unanswered” prayer, take heart. Visualize the answer you’re praying for. See God bending toward you in love. Then believe that he is working on your behalf—because he is.

Victory Over Your P-R-O-B-L-E-M-S

The next time your problems seem to be piling up on you, remember this simple acrostic:
- Positive attitudes are basic in solving any problem. Nix the negative thoughts; visualize a solution to your troubles. Make it happen!
- Release the power within you. Refuse to let your problems confuse or depress you. Remember that God is all-powerful and that you are his child. Repeat his promise: “My grace is sufficient for you, for my strength is made perfect in weakness” (2 Corinthians 12:9).
- Open your mind to opportunity. Often a problem contains the seeds of growth, of a great leap forward. Look for the “up side” of adversity.
- Believe. Repeat to yourself (and trust!) these great promises of the Bible:
“When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you” (Isaiah 43:2).
The LORD is a refuge for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble” (Psalm 9:9).
- Let go and let God work. When we learn to release our problems into the hands of God, he brings about surprising solutions. He promises: “Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know” (Jeremiah 33:3).
- Expect great things. When we trust God completely, our faith becomes an open channel for his power. Pray with the clear expectation that God will provide the best possible solution to your problem.
- Make the most of your situation. Analyze your difficulty as unemotionally as possible and look for the best way to handle it. Then move ahead. Sometimes you must step forward in faith before the solution to your problem arrives.

-
Summon the strength to succeed. Success is primarily a spiritual process, the process of developing a mature personality through which you can accomplish your highest objective with the help of God.

Feel God's Presence Every Day

Feel God's Presence Every Day
by Norman Vincent Peale

In every moment of every day God is by your side, ready to help, guide, and protect you. Seek Him, and you will find Him.

Whatever your circumstances be sure that God watches over you. Because He loves you, and since God Himself is love, you can be confident that you are never out of His sight, nor His loving concern.

How can you make yourself believe this? First, repeat it to yourself. Repetition is a powerful method of persuading the mind to accept a truth. Epictetus called it the most classical of all studies. It brings about acceptance.

Thank God constantly for watching over you and protecting you. After every journey, thank Him for His protecting care. In every difficult situation, thank Him for seeing you through.

Visualize your loved ones as always being protected by the everlasting arms, and supported by the great hand of God. In this way, you will be sending out protecting and guiding thoughts that God will use for their protection. Help God to protect your loved ones and yourself.

A final technique is to commit to memory many of the following Bible passages that deal with the protective love of God. Every day, repeat them to yourself, meditating upon them with gratitude.

The Lord is nigh unto all them that call upon Him, to all that call upon Him in truth. (Psalm145:18)

Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct thy paths. (Proverbs 3:5,6)

In God have I put my trust: I will not be afraid what man can do unto me. (Psalm 56:11)

Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time: Casting all your care upon Him; for He careth for you. (I Peter 5:6,7)

If I take the wings of the morning, and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea; Even there shall Thy hand lead me, and Thy right hand shall hold me. (Psalm 139:9,10)

Looking Up When You’re Feeling Down

Pain and disappointment can endanger your mental, spiritual and even your physical well-being. It’s only human for even the most righteous persons to be discouraged when they are overwhelmed. The Psalmist cried out in anguish, “My tears have been my food day and night” (Psalms 42:3).

When life knocks you down, or pulls you back from your hopes and dreams, remember these three things:

1. No matter what happens, it can be used for good. “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose” (Romans 8:28).

2. You can learn from the most discouraging experiences. “The Sovereign LORD…wakens me morning by morning, wakens my ear to listen like one being taught” (Isaiah 50:4).

3. God is with you—always and forever, in the midst of every challenge. “The LORD himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged" (Deuteronomy 31:8).

Regardless of what happens, never give up. Cling to faith and believe the best is yet to be. “May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit” (Romans 15:13).
