Hi folks:

HealingPRAYERs is intended for a group of commited souls to jointly pray for a fixed number of individuals that need our prayers for healing. A new list will develop each week, beginning on Mondays. Your own names can be added to as many weekly lists as you like, on the condition that the prayer-request lists do not exceed 10 people. The only reason I decided to limit the list is to make it easier for the folks praying to remember the names and the needs of each individual during their prayer sessions. This way, our prayers will be more personal and meaningful. Please also limit the requests for prayer to people needing healing; after all, that is the purpose of this very special group. Thank you for your cooperation. Oh, and there will be chances to join in some fasts for healing, too. I will post in advance when the fasts will take place.

There will be a thread in the discussion forum labeled "prayer requests." Please list one person, someone you know or yourself, who needs healing. Let others also post a request, up to and not exceeding ten requests with a short description of the health need. Finally, I eagerly ask that each group member participate in praying throughout the week for the health needs of those presented on the list. This won't work out if we all want prayer but none are willing to pray for the needs of others. Try to think of this as a service challenge...how service-driven are we in our walk with Jesus? Ok, let's get started! and Welcome! :-)

In Due Season

TODAY'S SCRIPTURE

"I will give you rain in due season, and the land shall yield her increase and the trees of the field yield their fruit"
(Leviticus 26:4, AMP)

TODAY'S WORD from Joel and Victoria

God has set up seasons in our lives. It's easy to get frustrated when our dreams aren't coming to pass on our timetable, but every season is not harvest season. There are plowing seasons. There are planting seasons. There are watering seasons. Sure, we would love for every season to be a time of increase left and right, good breaks here and there. But without the other seasons, we wouldn't be prepared. For example, it's during the plowing seasons that God brings issues to light that we need to deal with. He's getting us prepared for promotion.

If you're not making as much progress as you would like, the key is to not lose any ground. Don't go backwards. Hold your position. Keep a good attitude and do the right thing even when it's hard. When you do that, you are passing the test, and God promises that your due season of harvest is coming. Be encouraged because your appointed time of increase, favor, and promotion is on its way, and He will fulfill every dream and desire He's placed within your heart!

A PRAYER FOR TODAY

"Father God, I bless You today. I thank You for preparing me for the blessing and promotion You have in my future. I surrender my heart, mind, will and emotions to You so that I can live as a testimony of Your work in my life. In Jesus' Name. Amen."

Visits from God

TODAY'S SCRIPTURE

"…And God has visited His people [in order to help and care for and provide for them]!"
(Luke 7:16, AMP)

TODAY'S WORD from Joel and Victoria

Every person has times of visitation from the Lord. These are the times when God distinctly intervenes in our lives to bring us help, direction, care, and provision. He's ordained special times to pour out His love, favor, and blessing. It may be through a person we meet, an unexpected promotion, or supernatural favor so that in a split second we are thrust years ahead. These marked moments in our lives keep us on the course of our destiny.

When you really understand this point, you don't have to be frustrated because things aren't happening as fast as you'd like. You don't have to worry about how things will turn out. All you have to do is stay in faith, knowing that God is directing your steps. As long as we keep believing, our marked moments are on their way. Don't allow the enemy to steal your joy or distract you by getting you focused in the wrong direction. Remember, God is on your side, and He is leading you and guiding you in the path of victory in every area of your life!

A PRAYER FOR TODAY

"Heavenly Father, thank You for Your divine favor and direction on my life. I choose to release my cares today and trust wholeheartedly in You. Teach me to recognize those marked moments so that I can give all the glory and praise to You! In Jesus' Name. Amen."

1 Timothy 4:8
NIV For physical training is of some value, but godliness has value for all things, holding promise for both the present life and the life to come.
KJV For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.

Physical fitness is important. There is no doubt about that. But this passage reminds us that we can make the mistake of thinking that physical fitness will make us a happier person. If we are insecure, physical training only gives us an insecure person who is in shape. But giving ourselves to the Scripture and prayer promises to change us from the inside out. Here are just a few of the promises: long life, purity, a clean conscience, being changed, renewing our thinking, blessing in business, relationships, and the list goes on. Physical training is of some value, but godliness has value in ALL things.

Meditating on Scripture & God's Guidance

In times of distress and uncertainty of your future, you can find comfort in these Scripture verses:

Seek the Lord and His strength; seek His face continually.—1 Chronicles 16:11

He guides the humble in what is right and teaches them his way.—Psalm 25:9

Who is the man who fears the Lord? He will instruct him in the way he should choose.—Psalm 25:12

Since you are my rock and my fortress, for the sake of your name lead and guide me.— Psalm 31:3

I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you and watch over you.— Psalm 32:8

Delight yourself also in the Lord, and He shall give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the Lord, trust also in Him, and He shall bring it to pass ... Rest in the Lord, and wait patiently for Him.—Psalm 37:4,7

For this is God, our God forever and ever; He will be our guide even to death.—Psalm 48:14

You guide me with your counsel, and afterward you will take me into glory.—Psalm 73:24

Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.—Psalm 119:10

...in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.—Proverbs 3:6

A man’s heart plans his way, but the Lord directs his steps.—Proverbs 16:9

Seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.—Matthew 6:33

How to Receive God's Guidance
by Norman Vincent Peale

Often we're in situations where we need guidance on a particular problem, or maybe we just need help getting through our everyday struggles. These simple steps will help.

1. Say, "Be still, and know that I am God," aloud three times.
This will make you aware of God’s presence.

2. Be Humble.
Humility is necessary for spiritual wisdom. It is God's wisdom you want, not your own. Only with the spirit of the child, teachable and willing to learn, does guidance come. So, put everything in His hands.

3. Open your mind.
Let go your desires, your preconceived notions, your obsessions, your fixed opinions. These represent your wisdom, or lack of it, and what you want is God's wisdom. Your mind must be emptied of error before it can be filled with truth.

4. Ask God to fill your mind with the understanding and ideas you need.
Close your eyes and listen, really listen.

5. If you have a specific problem, write it on paper.
Then, actually holding it up, as though offering it to God, say, "Lord, I want only to do Your will. Here is my problem. Show me what to do and I will do exactly as I am shown."

6. Pray this prayer.

Dear Lord,

I rest my mind in Your mind. Let it be full of Your great thoughts. I want to live and think and act only as You would have me do. Fill my mind to overflowing with spiritual insights, with true wisdom. May I think as You think. Your guidance is now coming to me in this problem and will ultimately come in all problems. Help me to know that I can never go wrong doing right. Amen.

7. Commit this verse to memory:
Thou shalt guide me with thy counsel, and afterward receive me to glory. (Psalm 73:24)

8. Remain humble, practice and believe

Proverbs 12:14
NIV From the fruit of his lips a man is filled with good things as surely as the work of his hands rewards him.
KJV A man shall be satisfied with good by the fruit of his mouth: and the recompence of a man's hands shall be rendered unto him.

Our mouths and our hands both produce a product. It is their "fruit." Wise words bring rewards just as hard work does.

Our words should be used to honor God and build up others in the truth.

"Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen." - Ephesians 4:29

Do your words benefit those who listen?
