Who is.................
When I think of God, I think of Three
Father=Thinker
Son=Speaker
Holy Spirit=Doer
When I start out reading Genesis, I see all Three at work.
When I see Lord God, I think of Jesus.
I know that all Three are always in agreement. What i am trying to understand is Who is the Almighty...in other words, Who of the Trinity is spoken of in this term?
Throughout the Old Testament, different Names are used to refer to One or All of the Trinity.
(When I break down the Trinity in this manner, it seems to give me better understanding.)
In Job, for example, I think of Christ as being the Speaker.
Could anyone give me some help on this?

Hey dude,
I really don't know why the trinity/deity is hard for so many to understand. hahaha Just messing with you Graz man.
God is three persons in one, that is how He is. All three have the same attributes, but there is order among the Godhead. Father, Son and Holy Spirit. God has done so many amazing things that thinking of HIm as He is, is not difficult to accept how unique He is.

I think the body of a person, the body of the Church, and the Body of the Trinity.
We have a body where each member performs a different task. In the Body of the Church, different member perform different tasks. So I carry that thought through for the Trinity as well.
We can do nothing if our body isn't coordinated. Same with the Church. And because we are made in the image of God, I think that each member of the Trinity performs a different task. However, as body members are in coordination with another, I think the Trinity is coordinated similarily. Our brain coordinates our body. The Father coordinates the Trinity. Keeping that in mind, I get fuller understand as to what each Member of the Trinity is doing.
My problem lies in the fact that I don't know Which member of the Trinity is called by what Name. Christ is credited with speaking the universe into being, but I know the plan was the Father's and I know the action was of the Spirit.
Balaam's donkey is another situation. The Lord opened the mouth of the donkey but I think the Holy Spirit actually performed the feat or caused the feat to be performed. The approval of such a thing had to come from the Father.

Ruth 1:20 and forward is a good example. It appears that the Almighty is the Father.

It is impossible to separate the Three in One. However, I think in this situation, He is the One Who sits on the throne.
Isa 6:1-3
6 In the year that King Uzziah died, I saw the Lord seated on a throne, high and exalted, and the train of his robe filled the temple. 2 Above him were seraphs, each with six wings: With two wings they covered their faces, with two they covered their feet, and with two they were flying. 3 And they were calling to one another:
"Holy, holy, holy is the Lord Almighty;
the whole earth is full of his glory."
NIV
In Revelation 4, we see this scene again. This time we are given more information than just the One seated on the throne and the seraphis about. We see the Almighty on the throne, the Spirit before the throne and the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David taking the scroll from the One seated on the throne.
The One seated on the throne must be the Father.

Later in the same scene in Revelation we read:
Rv 5:13-14
13 Then I heard every creature in heaven and on earth and under the earth and on the sea, and all that is in them, singing:
"To him who sits on the throne and to the Lamb
be praise and honor and glory and power,
for ever and ever!"
14 The four living creatures said, "Amen," and the elders fell down and worshiped. NIV
I am there singing with them. Hallelujah!

I know I've read that (ref Revelation) a dozen times, but somehow it just wouldn't come to mind.
I don't want you to think I seperate the Trinity; however, I do get more understanding when I can see which Person of the Trinity a particular verse is refering to.
Another question: How about Lord God?

I guess I missed this. I think sometimes when Scripture refers to the Lord God Almighty, it is referring to the One true God. God is One and so some references are to the one true God. However, I do think that sometimes the Scripture referring to the Lord God Almighty does appear to be referring to the Father. However look at this referrence:
Rv 1:8 "I am the Alpha and the Omega," says the Lord God, "who is, and who was, and who is to come, the Almighty." NIV
There is no question Who this is - this is Jesus, the Lord God Almighty. Notice again, however, on into the Book:
Rv 11:15-17
15 The seventh angel sounded his trumpet, and there were loud voices in heaven, which said:
"The kingdom of the world has become the kingdom of our Lord and of his Christ,
and he will reign for ever and ever."
16 And the twenty-four elders, who were seated on their thrones before God, fell on their faces and worshiped God, 17 saying:
"We give thanks to you, Lord God Almighty,
the One who is and who was,
because you have taken your great power
and have begun to reign. NIV
Does the One who is and who was only speaking of Jesus? Wow! This one is confusing. My initial response is they are falling on their faces to worship God the Father. The statement is: "The kingdom of the world has become the kingdom of our Lord and of his Christ, and he will reign for ever and ever."
The term "of our Lord and of his Christ" seems to refer to both the Father and the Son. I checked the KJV and it is identical so the translation must be correct. It does seem that the terms can become interchangeable. Since the Three have no jealousy or personal ambitions, it does not appear that it is all that important to them.
I guess I am going to say that the Lord God Almighty might be referencing all Three, the One true God.
That is not a very good answer. I am sure others on here have studied more on this and can give a greater insight to this very good question.

Not that I am so spiritual: that this is the only way I can see things, but I guess I can’t see what difference it makes about the three, Father, Son and Holy Spirit. I only see “ONE”, when I think of Father God, God all mighty, Christ and the Godhead etc. One can’t do anything differently than the other, they are all three “ONE” the same mind the same nature, the same everything.
The reason we see the three, is because we are seeing with our intellect, carnal natural minds and not with the Spirit. But a harder thing for me to understand is that we are one with them, WOW!!! Jo.17:21-23.
We think of Jesus as a Spiritual being; when in fact He was a physical man, though born: not of the seed of man, but He did have a human body, which made Him the Son of man, But then on the other hand He was the “Anointed One” of God, making Him The Christ. Which also makes Him the Son of God. We too are a son of God by virtue of Christ in us.
1Cor.3:16-17 Know ye not that ye are the temple of God?
Col.1:27 It is Christ in you the hope of Glory.
Jo.1:12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:
It says that all things were made by Him, and without Him was not anything made that was made, Jo.1, Now in John 5:30 NIV. We read “Jesus speaking", says, by myself I can do nothing, I judge only as I hear…..”, So see, though we can’t separate Jesus and Christ because they are one body as you and I are 1 part your father and 1 part your mother, making us one with them. But you can’t separate the two of you. Jesus was the Body God prepared for Himself to dwell on earth; an earth suite so to speak. Jesus was the Son of God by virtue of Christ. Jesus was the son of man by virtue of Mary, the mother of Jesus. the body of.
I would be like Grazer, trying to figure this out with our finite minds would certainly give our carnal minds, a brain cramp. If you will take the time to dissect this scripture, you will readily see why we can’t get our minds wrapped around the trinity.
1 Corinthians 2:14-16 (KJV)
But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.
But he that is spiritual judgeth all things, yet he himself is judged of no man.
For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ.
This is why I feel that so many Christians are: and can get so confused; trying to understand Spiritual things with their natural carnal minds.
No need to try! It can’t be done: with any degree of accuracy or success anyway.
I could probably write a book on this and still never get across how I see this: without getting someone confused.

Hey, Joe.
As I stated in my topic, breaking down the Trinity to know which person of the Trinity the Bible refers to in various verses, helps me to understand Who is doing what. It gives me more knowledge on Who God is. It is my desire to understand God, so that I can better understand His Word.
Perhaps it is carnality, soooo......my carnal mind is even inquisitive to the workings of God.

It [your mind] must be renewed by the Word of God before you can comprehend the workings of God!!!
I’m sorry Rita, but there is no offense meant or intended by this response either,
I am only quoting what the Word says, This is not conjecture, but written fact by the inspiration of God 2Tim.3:16.
So I don’t try to argue the point.
1Cor.2:14. The natural man receiveth not. The natural man is your mind, your will and emotions, which you are trying to comprehend the Word of God with and according to the Word you can’t.
So I will reiterate, two things,
#1.What difference does it make which one is talking? They are all the same. [ONE] They are all in one accord, same nature, same mind set etc.One of them is not going to refute what the other says or does, they are in complete agreement; what one says the other says.
Take a look at these two verses! 1 John 5:7-8
For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: “and these three are one.”
And there are three that bear witness in earth, the Spirit, and the water, and the blood: and these three agree in one.
Now look at, John 3:6
That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.
And then look at this, Galatians 5:17
For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other…
#2.This is why I feel that so many Christians are: and can get so confused; trying to understand Spiritual things with their natural carnal minds.
You might be able to discern the difference between the Spirit, Soul and the Body, And with your intellect comprehend whether or not it is of the flesh or the Spirit. But to understand the things of the Spirit, or what we have or what we are in the Spirit, we must look into the Word of God, because it is Spirit and life and reflects who we are and what we have in Him. So to understand who you are and what belongs to you as a Christian, you must see it in the Word, because The Word is as a spiritual mirror and it will reflect what you have and who you are in the Spirit.
And the natural man will, or can not understand it.
I don’t know if I am making any sense or not.
We can feel our bodies and our souls, but our spirits can’t be accessed by any natural means or ways. Jo.3:6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh and that which is born of the spirit is spirit. So there is no direct connection between the Spirit and the flesh. Therefore we can’t contact our spirit through our emotions or our physical bodies.
Our souls encompasses our mind, will and emotions and conscience.
So if you don’t understand that spiritual reality can’t be felt, then you will be confused when God’s Word declares that you have everything that pertains unto life and godliness; 2Pet.1:3, Do you feel you have everything that pertains to your life and godliness now? but it is through the knowledge of Him: that you will receive that revelation. So when you grow up in the complete knowledge of Him, you will see that you do indeed have all things, but it is now completely in your spirit, But you can’t receive that yet with your natural carnal mind. Therefore the natural man receiveth not the things that be of God.
Do you feel saved, or do you know you are saved by that inner witness based on the Word of God that you just read and believed?
There is no physical evidence that you are saved, it is taken by faith. Christ dwells in your heart by faith. Likewise there is no physical way to explain the workings of God. Mat.11:19, But wisdom is justified of her children, Wisdom= insight.
The Word of God is the only accurate way you can perceive the Spirit realm. The reference to the Word being a spiritual mirror is in a few places, one is in James 1: 23-25,
For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass: For he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was.
but whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed.
1Cor.13, refers to the glass, “a mirror” we see through a glass darkly, but then face to face, we shall know even as now we are known.
2Cor.3:18 says “we all with open face, beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord are changed into that same image, from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord”
So by this: you can surely see that the Word reflects the Spiritual realm. and our fleshly minds can’t possibly understand it. It is Spirit and it is Life!
Romans 12:2
And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

Further to Pharaoh and Joseph - this comparison between Joseph and Jesus is amazing - talk about shadows in the Old Testament:
Joseph was 30 years old when he entered into service of Pharaoh.
Genesis 41:46
Joseph was thirty years old when he entered the service of Pharaoh king of Egypt.
Jesus was 30 years old when he began his public ministry.
Luke 3:23
Now Jesus himself was about thirty years old when he began his ministry.
Joseph was betrayed by his brothers.
Genesis 37:28
So when the Midianite merchants came by, his brothers pulled Joseph up out of the cistern and sold him for twenty shekels of silver to the Ishmaelites, who took him to Egypt.
Jesus was betrayed by his “brothers.”
John 13:21
After he had said this, Jesus was troubled in spirit and testified, "I tell you the truth, one of you is going to betray me."
Joseph saved his betraying brothers.
Genesis 45:7
But God sent me ahead of you to preserve for you a remnant on earth and to save your lives by a great deliverance.
Jesus is also the savior of his betraying brothers.
Romans 10:13
Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.
Pharaoh put Joseph in charge of the whole land of Egypt.
Genesis 41:41
So Pharaoh said to Joseph, "I hereby put you in charge of the whole land of Egypt."
God put Jesus in charge of everything pertaining to the Church.
Ephesians 1:22
And He put all things in subjection under His feet, and gave Him as head over all things to the church.
Pharaoh exalted Joseph to the highest place possible.
Genesis 41:43a
He had him ride in a chariot as his second-in-command...
Genesis 41:40
You shall be in charge of my palace, and all my people are to submit to your orders.
God exalted Jesus to the highest place possible.
Philippians 2:9-11
(9) Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name,
(10) that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth,
(11) and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
Pharaoh gave Joseph all authority and power in the land of Egypt.

Joseph was given a new name.

Pharaoh gave Joseph the name Zaphenath-Paneah...
Jesus is also given a new name.

Pharaoh gave Joseph a bride.
Genesis 41:45b
…and [Pharaoh] gave him Asenath daughter of Potiphera, priest of On, to be his wife.
God will give Jesus a bride.
Revelation 19:7
Let us rejoice and be glad and give him glory! For the wedding of the Lamb has come, and his bride has made herself ready.
God made Joseph Lord of all Egypt.
Genesis 45:9a
...Joseph says: God has made me lord of all Egypt.
God made Jesus Lord of heaven and earth.
Acts 2:36
God has made this Jesus, whom you crucified, both Lord and Christ.
