All About GOD - Growing Relationships with Jesus and Others

Faith can be little and I hope for the faith in many to grow exponentially. Love is the greatest though and what does that mean?

The God kind of Love, what used to be called Charity, is the greatest Gift that God the Holy Spirit can give. It is God giving Himself to us, for GOD is Love (Agape).
Stacey,

May I ask which verse in Scripture you are specifically referring to?

Thanks,
LT
I was not referring to any verse it was a thought that I had so I asked the questioned. I can refer to any verse but this is up to your own interpretation
New International Version
And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.

English Standard Version
So now faith, hope, and love abide, these three; but the greatest of these is love.

New American Standard Bible
But now faith, hope, love, abide these three; but the greatest of these is love.

International Standard Version
Right now three things remain: faith, hope, and love. But the greatest of these is love.

GOD'S WORD Translation
So these three things remain: faith, hope, and love. But the best one of these is love.

King James Bible
And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity.

I like the King James verse overall. Not that the other versions are not good, but Charity actually sounds better. Not that one is better than the other but yes I have my preferences.
I have suffered tremendously Linda. I have been tested to the point where I would drop all that I have to BRING GLORY TO HIS KINGDOM. Basically, I wrote a withdrawal letter for college to go volunteer and help other countries with people who are suffering in faith. ( I know now that I do not have to give up everything in the sense of abandoning my schooling to help others but rather a prayer and loving others is sufficient and God will do the rest) Many of my own family members and friends tried to stop me from withdrawing. I tried to explain myself to others repeatedly about why I have made such a decision. People could not understand why I chose such a route. Some were supportive, some called be stupid, some called me ungrateful, some just said I was crazy. Some said they trust that I am not someone to make foolish decisions especially because of who I am. By the time I was prepared to submit the letter after saying a prayer and everything, I could not find the letter. My friend told me that it was not meant for me to leave college, but to educate myself first. Sis, I was willing to live a "poor life" (yet rich in the LORD) to bring Glory to HIS KINGDOM, but then he stopped me at the very end when I was just about to submit the letter and told me not to leave. I am at this college for a reason I may not know why exactly, but I trust in God and I continue to serve the Lord and love others while being joyful in times of joy and mellow in times of sadness and whatever else the Father tells me to do. I know that in this time I am helping myself first so that when I graduate I am ready for whatever lies ahead.

FATHER YOU KNOW ME AND YOU KNOW THAT I ONLY WANT TO SERVE YOU.

I AM POOR YET RICH IN THE LORD. I MAY HAVE LITTLE MONEY AND I MAY HAVE LITTLE FOOD TO EAT BUT I HAVE A LOT BECAUSE I KNOW GOD LOVES ME :) AND GODS LOVE IS POWERFUL. I AM BROUGHT TO MY KNEES TO SAY THAT GOD IS THE ALMIGHTY FATHER. HE IS THE GREATEST FATHER. NO OTHER LIKE GOD.

PRAISE GOD GLORY TO GOD IN THE HIGHEST.

You can interpret my personal experience any way you like but know that I only speak the truth. It was not an easy decision and it was not a joyful experience to be ridiculed and persecuted and called crazy. To me nothing is ever simple and I make things challenging for myself not that it is difficult to get through, because Jesus Christ, my Lord Savior is with me or should I say in me? Jesus Christ has my heart. HE HELPS ME ALL THE TIME I question all things and I think about the consequences of my actions; I stumble at times but everyday is a new blessed day to learn more and life would not be the same without the struggles. I thought about leaving college for a whole year, praying over and over about it. I even talked to friends and family about leaving college before I came to a closing. God stopped me in the end, no person was able to withstand the voice within me. Do not get me wrong I love learning and education is important. I would not be where I am today without GOD. I agree with your assertion that "Suffering brings you into His glorious kingdom as you have no choice but seek Him who suffered the greatest on behalf of us all."

God Bless you Linda
Lots of Love in Christ,
Stacey

P.S. Your seriousness is admirable. Chillax sometimes, unless God tells you otherwise then by all means I respect you.

I hope that what I have shared does not offend anyone. If so holla at me and lets communicate (message/comment/reply on this post) . I do not have a problem with explaining myself, however I do hope that you will be able to understand where I am coming from. May God Bless anyone who reads this message and may this story of my life, only bring Glory to you Father. In Jesus name I pray. Amen.
Dear Stacey,

Thank you for sharing your story here. It's not offensive. It's simply your story. I thank you for sharing it so openly.

In reading this the book of Philippians comes to mind.

Here's a link in case someone else is reading it and wants the bible reference.

Here we learn of Paul's suffering. This is an example to us...None of us is exempt from suffering. The evidence of this is that we all suffer.

When Jesus chose 'Saul' in (Acts 9) He sent Ananias to heal Paul (then Saul) from his blindness...Ananias was questioning the Lord as to why He would choose the likes of Paul who had done terrible things to persecute believers "...how much harm he did to Your saints at Jerusalem" (Acts 9:13)

The Lord told Him in Acts 9:15 But the Lord said to him, "Go, for he is a chosen instrument of Mine, to bear My name before the Gentiles and kings and the sons of Israel;
Act 9:16 for I will show him how much he must suffer for My name's sake."

Then we learn in the book of Phillipians just how much Paul did indeed suffer for the advancing of God's Kingdom.

Phl 1:12 Now I want you to know, brethren, that my circumstances have turned out for the greater progress of the gospel,
Phl 1:13 so that my imprisonment in the cause of Christ has become well known throughout the whole praetorian guard and to everyone else,
Phl 1:14 and that most of the brethren, trusting in the Lord because of my imprisonment, have far more courage to speak the word of God without fear.

I hope that each one of us will embrace our suffering here in this broken world for the better advancement of God's Kingdom.... May this be true in each one of our lives. All that we have, and all that we are, sings to God with Praise...for HE has come to set the captives free...

Jhn 8:36 "So if the Son makes you free, you will be free indeed.

Luk 4:17 And the book of the prophet Isaiah was handed to Him. And He opened the book and found the place where it was written,
Luk 4:18 "THE SPIRIT OF THE LORD IS UPON ME, BECAUSE HE ANOINTED ME TO PREACH THE GOSPEL TO THE POOR. HE HAS SENT ME TO PROCLAIM RELEASE TO THE CAPTIVES, AND RECOVERY OF SIGHT TO THE BLIND, TO SET FREE THOSE WHO ARE OPPRESSED,
Luk 4:19 TO PROCLAIM THE FAVORABLE YEAR OF THE LORD."

What do we have to look forward to?

Rev 21:3 And I heard a loud voice from the throne, saying, "Behold, the tabernacle of God is among men, and He will dwell among them, and they shall be His people, and God Himself will be among them,
Rev 21:4 and He will wipe away every tear from their eyes; and there will no longer be any death; there will no longer be any mourning, or crying, or pain; the first things have passed away."
Rev 21:5 And He who sits on the throne said, "Behold, I am making all things new." And He [fn]said, "Write, for these words are faithful and true."

Blessings Stacey.. Keep on keeping on... In other words. Stand Strong sister.

Matthew 5
10 Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness’ sake,
For theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

Matthew 5:12
Rejoice and be exceedingly glad, for great is your reward in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you.

1 Corinthians 4:12
And we labor, working with our own hands. Being reviled, we bless; being persecuted, we endure;

2 Corinthians 4:9
persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed—
THANK GOD HE LOVES US SO MUCH :) <3 MORE THAN WE CAN IMAGINE. TEARS OVERFLOWING WITH GRATITUDE

LOTS OF LOVE IN CHRIST,
STACEY :) <3
When we "children of God" suffer because of our faith, we are truly blest because our hope is in God not man.
Hmm I always thought about this question and I also have another perspective to this and how I watch people who suffer to see God in the most painful times in life. I look at in the sense that when something bad happens people automatically think they have been abandoned when in reality it just there suffering in this faith is another way to get over the drama that will build you up. I hope this perspective makes sense as well :)
NOTHING IMPOSSIBLE IF YOU HAVE THE LOVE OF GOD AMEN GOD BLESS YOU ALL <3 :)
