All About GOD - Growing Relationships with Jesus and Others

Some days I pray and read my bible, and God is there with me, I feel his presence. Some days I feel like I am going through the motions of what I ought to do, sort of like doing homework. I desire to feel his presence, but ....

Hi There,

Yes often in my life as a Christian, I feel as though God has moved to Cape Town or Sydney Australia.

I believe it is God's way of letting us know that a learning curve is on the way.

If God always "covered" us with His love we would remain Babes and only capable of drinking milk, never able to get to the more "meaty" parts of the Bible.

Get alone with God and your Bible, Fast if you can and wait on God to reveal Himself as you study His Word.
Psa 42:2 In my heart, I am thirsty for you, the living God. When will I see your face?

God will answer you through the Scriptures.

The Lord Bless you
Ron
Thank you for your words of wisdom. I will do more waiting on God, my idea of waiting is quite possibly different from His!

When God seems far away, I pray harder. Its the fervent, effectual prayer that availth much. God will bless our faithfulness during His apparent silence. Charles Stanley said its during the so-called silence, that dry period when nothing seems to be happening, when we can't seem to "find" God, it is during these times when God is actually busy working out things in our lives.

God's silence happens in every Christian's life. It can be a time of testing. I take comfort in what God has said: Be still and know that I am God.
Thanks Craig!

Actually I recently have been tuning in to some of Charles Stanley's services on TV and I like the way he explains/teaches. Thank you for not assuming that I merely was not spending enough time in fervent prayer. I am recently coming back to my faith "full swing" if you will. I was probably "lukewarm" in my efforts to pray and seek Him up until about 6 months ago. (Unfortunately I had a husband who claimed to believe, but did not walk out his faith). I know we can't blame our actions on others, and I've long since stopped doing that, but you have to put a tremendous amount more effort to stay the course. I know the important thing is I found my way all the way back to Jesus, and Im here to stay regardless of these "dry spells". Thank you for your encouragment.

Charles,

I know this wasn't directed towards me, but this is such a beautiful example of how we are to Trust in our Lord every day...all the time.

Rom 8:28 And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them.

Your life that you share with us here, is the reflection of a beautiful relationship which our Lord desires to have with each one of us.

Thank you...Carla
