All About GOD

All About GOD - Growing Relationships with Jesus and Others

I knew this wasnt going to be a long winded  post, absolutly not Gossip is never healthy,it doesnt build up,it casts down, it doesnt encourage it discourages,it comes from feelings of being inadequet....no one is inadequet...even outside christian circles...everyone wants to belong and feel needed....if its an attention deficit....learn some social skills like socialization and manners, respect for others, it also has some roots in nonrespect of ones self......The Bible clearly points out that dissension comes from loose talk and failure to keep secrets.....If someone confides in someone there is a trust bond that has been formed....if that bond becomes broken you have just with out a shread remorse destroyed a brother or sister....That person or persons are to be marked and no fellowship be continued with them unless they openly repent before all...It has been named among you , This shouldnt be....thats not love, that is bitterness.....and it can become a stronghold,it will and has separated friends and what for???. This is something new christians dont need to learn....shed the old man....he died remember....and is hidden in christ....unless...whoever is doing this never really gave themselves to Jesus in the first place....Not to the Jesus in the Bible and the one who sits on  His throne, who died and rose again....that Jesus....Jesus didnt teach about  how to destroy your family,or talk about someone behind thier backs .Someone has sold out to the enemy and is trying to serve two masters and it cant be done.

Great Chip.

God bless you..

hhhmm..  I feel like I am listening to a loving father.:)

I do agree with you brother:

Gossip is not a healthy attitude/Character so much more to us all who claim to love and knows God. Amen.

These are acts of an immature people.. Let's say "CHILDISH ACTS"

"IT'S BEEN MY PRINCIPLE THAT WHEN YOU SEE SOMEBODY'S WEAKNESS, IT'S NOT FOR YOU TO GO AROUND AND LET THE WORLD KNOW ABOUT THAT WEAKNESS, BUT RATHER FOR YOU TO GO TO YOUR KNEES BEFORE THE THRONE OF GOD AND PRAY FOR THAT  BROTHER /SISTER. AMEN

for at the end of the day, he/she is part of the family, and we are all one in Christ, and how could we encouraged more people to come to Jesus, if we ourselves is putting a stumbling block for them to believe what we say, about Jesus Christ our Lord if they don't see in us what we preach. It is important that we practice what we say or preach. AS THE OLD SAYING GOES "ACTION SPEAKS LOUDER THAN WORDS" Amen. :)

Proverbs 27:5 says "Better is open rebuke than hidden love. "

Love you all guys in Christ :)

Amen.

Good word Sister Grace.

New International Version (©1984)
By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another." John 13:35

John 4:20 If anyone says, "I love God," yet hates his brother, he is a liar. For anyone who does not love his brother, whom he has seen, cannot love God, whom he has not seen.

Gossip destroys and does not edify anyone. We are to love one another.

since becoming a christian i have endeavoured to avoid speaking badly or gossiping about anyone. A fantastic by product of this approach is i am closer to God and more at peace with myself.

go figure

Chip

I have been learning to sweep around my own back door and by seeing me do that others will follow suit. I believe that gossip goes along with judging another person. We are warned about judging others. Gossip is a type of judgment against others. It may be that the *facts* are far from the truth. That happens most if not all of the time. Gossip causes harm to another in many different ways....the greatest being that it is usually a lie by the time it gets repeated.

A good way to avoid gossip is to stop the person who is telling the story. A good way to do it, and not make a friend in the process, is to tell them that you know it's a lie, which I have had to do on occasion. I have had to hang up the phone on gossip. I have had to walk away from gossip.

An example.....a lady I know is suffering from not being able to see her grandchildren as she wants to. Her daughter is barred from seeing them because of a whipping she gave her son. She came to me asking me what to do. I told her she needed to take the children to talk to an attorney because they wanted to see their mother and instead are being taken care of by the dad's girl friend who allegedly abuses them mentally and physically. I had occasion to talk with the attorney and ask her about being able to represent this woman and her grandchildren in this matter. The attorney told me that she couldn't because she had represented the husband in the suit against the mother. She also enlightened me to the fact that when the case was active, the grandmother was a witness for the father in the case. So it appears the grandmother is telling another story. This is a form of gossip as well. Although I sided with the grandmother and children originally...I have had to step back and rethink the entire situation.

Gossip is usually a lie against another person. In the above mentioned case, this happening is becoming a lie. And could be labeled as gossip, because what once was truth is slowly but surely turning into a lie. This event is repeatedly told and it is probably being told with twists in it.

There are so many ways that a person can be caught up in to the lies that comes with the gossip. Judgment goes along with those lies. We make a judgment as to what we heard happened and it isn't that way at all. The end result is that what we are told needs to be judged on fact, and we may not have the facts.

Blessings...

Rita
