My take on this is God loves everyone.  He made us, He loves us.  But He CANNOT stand sin.  Sin goes against everything He is.  Therefore if one is sinning, He cannot look upon that person, cannot have them in His presence unless they are washed by the blood which covers (hides or takes away) the sin so that He can look upon that person and not see the sin.  Doesn't mean they keep sinning, but if they're truly washed in the blood, they are made righteous and will not want to sin.  Those that want to sin have no covering over those sins, they are not righteous and God cannot look upon them or have anything to do with them.  They are bound for hell of their own choices.  God doesn't wish that because He loves all, but He won't take away our free choice.  Another way to show He loves us, He won't override our choices.

The question is not what sin did Jesus die for and is covered by His blood? The question is when do we stop preaching salvation to sinners and just start preaching damnation to them? In other words, when have they gone too far in their sins that they have no more hope? Is it ever up to us to decide this matter? Certainly Gods give some people up and it might even mean that those whom he gives up have gone too far in their sins and are so hardened now that God isn't even in their thoughts anymore and so God chooses to give them up so that they will remain forever in the darkness in which they were born and God has chosen to never awaken these sleepers but when can we decide that this is what has happened about someone? God is the judge. I believe Romans 2:1 is stated after Romans 1 to continue expounding on the issue being preached by Paul.

I believe that anyone who is seeking God's word and is concerned about their salvation is not anyone that God has given up on or turned over to a hardened heart.  A hardened heart means we won't even care whether we are sinning and/or pleasing God.

We should never stop preaching God's love to the sinner. We can let God worry about those who have gone too far and are lost. We cannot know those things. Is Paul stating in Romans 1 that those who have done these vile sins are lost without hope? I think some are lost but I don't know who they are. He is speaking against a wicked culture which you and I are a part of today. But, if Romans 2 is a continuation of Romans 1, just think of the great hope we all have. I love Romans. Romans will set us free from fear and doubt. It was not written to us for the purpose of causing us to have fear and doubt. Sin is a wicked, wicked thing. But now I show you a righteousness that is not by what we do or what we have done. It is a righteousness achieve through no work of our own but through the blessed Savior who came and did it for us and then became our sacrifice. This is the righteousness you and I enjoy.

No, I do not think it is up to us to decide. God will always have a remnant (also taught in this great book). You and I are a part of that people.

Greetings all,

This is an important subject and it has been addressed quite thoroughly IMO regarding the sexual act between same-sexes is a sin according to the Word of God (on this we will not debate). I think it is time to move on with the understanding that this subject will come up again ... and again ... There are many other subjects that we could be discussing that will profit seekers and believers in Jesus.
