" God hath endued the will of man with natural liberty, that is neither forced, nor by any absolute necessity of nature determined to good or evil."

God has created us intelligent, able to reason and to choose. He as an all wise, Holy and Powerful God can turn even our evil to work for his glory. For the good of his people. As the creator, he does NO damage to the creature by remaining God in all maters.

"The will of man is made perfectly and immutable free to do good alone, in the state of glory only."

So David, Solomon, Peter etc... were doing their will as God was exercising his Holy and perfect right and will over his people.

New International Version
For we are God's handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.

New Living Translation
For we are God's masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.

English Standard Version
For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.

God

David, most excellent word, Bro.

Tammy, you can jump in when you get back.......just don't jump off the RV :~)

Grace and Peace.

Believe u me, I wanted to jump off that thing several times

The Son of Man goes as it is written of him, but woe to that man by whom
the Son of Man is betrayed! It would have been better for that man if he
had not been born
  (Matthew 26:24)

From Judas’ betrayal to Peter’s broken-hearted denial; whether we are talking about Pilate’s effort to wash his hands of the whole affair or the religious leaders blood-thirsty tenacity to see Jesus dead; from the disciples running away to the women who steadfastly refused to abandon Jesus in his death: God has our number.

I get that point ... but is it a fact that Judas born with a mission to betray Jesus ??

The Son of Man will go as it has been decreed.
But woe to that man who betrays him!"
(Luke 22:22)

Interestingly, our Lord told two of his apostles very similar things: Judas would betray him; Peter would deny him.  Peter thought it couldn't happen.  Judas knew full well what he was planning.  Christ, in his foreknowledge, "outed" them both.

Judas was chosen by Jesus to be part of his innermost circle, and he ministered with Jesus for about three years.  In John 6:70-71, Jesus said to his 12 apostles, “Did I not choose you, the Twelve? And yet one of you is a devil.” In verse 71, it tell us that Jesus knew it was Judas Iscariot who was to betray him.

Jesus gave Judas and the other disciples power to proclaim the coming of the kingdom, cure diseases and cast out demons (Matthew 10).   As evidenced by the fact that he was seated next to Jesus, he was given preferential treatment during the Last Supper.  Yet, despite all of this, Judas hardened his heart toward Jesus and his message—so much so that he was easy prey for Satan when the time came (John 13:2).

In Acts 1:16, Peter states that Scripture had to be fulfilled with the betrayal of Jesus by Judas.

Later, in Acts 2:23, Peter says that Jesus was delivered up “according to the definite plan and foreknowledge of God.”

All of this tells us that Jesus was ordained to go to the cross and that Judas Iscariot was destined to play a part in the process.

yeah that's insightful ... but why God chose Judas ?? why not peter or paul or john or mark ???

so whats the learning e  have from this scripture ??

I'm not sure that God chose Judas to betray Him and harden his heart, so much as He knew beforehand Judas would be the one to betray Him and therefore chose him for one of the twelve to carry out the prophecy.

In my opinion, in the Lord's call for Judas to be one of the chosen twelve, He had hoped to deliver him from temptation and make an honest person out of him.  He chose his way- to betray the Lord.  If Judas had not betrayed the Lord, I think He would have accomplished His mission of salvation anyway.  The gospel of John records incidents where the Jewish leaders had tried several times to kill Him before His time had come and He always slipped away.  He would have surrendered at the appointed time, with or without Judas.  Well this is my opinion anyway.  It was for our salvation He came down from heaven, so with or without Judas, he would have fulfilled His mission.

I hope this makes sense.
