All About GOD

All About GOD - Growing Relationships with Jesus and Others

Being a born again Christian feels good but I would like to be able to share the feeling with a Christian man.  Im not very trusting because there have been many people that have taken my kindness for weakness.  I think im able to trust again. One day I do want to experience marriage I believe it was in the books for me.  But starting as friends first is very very important to me and I mean as long as it possibly takes, months or maybe years.  The next relationship I begin I want it to be fueled by the love of jesus in every aspect, no if ands or buts about it.  A relationship that prays together should be easier to stay together.  No relationship is perfect but if we keep God first there should be less problems.

Some times people can put pressure on others to 'find a mate' as if to say it is the only way to a satisfying life.  However, in scripture we learn that singleness opens us up to serve the Lord without hindrance (not that being married is necessarily a hindrance)... but it can be in regards to living fully for the Lord as our hearts desire.

I hope that whichever way it ends up for you that you will rest complete in God's Love.  Married or Single..  The bible says staying single is the better of the two.

1 Corinthians 7:28 says this: "28 But if you do marry, you have not sinned, and if a betrothed woman10 marries, she has not sinned. Yet those who marry will have worldly troubles, and I would spare you that."

That's the best encouragement that Paul has for getting married.  He says "you have not sinned if you do marry."   ....funny huh?  And to think that we push and pressure people to get married like it's the better thing.  But Paul says that those who marry will have worldly troubles.  Isn't that the truth???

As the church we need to get better at accepting and celebrating people who live single... these are the ones who have full freedom to live for the Lord completely without having to check in with a husband or children to care for.

Bless you in whichever you choose!

In Christ, Carla
