All About GOD

All About GOD - Growing Relationships with Jesus and Others

My dog just passed today and I asked my friend if she believes animals go to heaven and she said no. She took a class in college (some religious course) and they said the spirit and soul are separate and animals have spirits, but not souls. I feel like animals have personalities and each personality different. Humans have personality and each personality different. I see emotion in animals as well. People as well. What's the difference other than intelligence and design?

And  what was the point of Moses taking the animals on the ark if they're not coming along after death. Yes, some of them for hunting, but what about the ones we won't/can't eat?

I meant to say NOAH! Lol. Hahaha.

If my memory serves me right, I cannot think of any verses that deal directly with your question. I would say they simply stop being, but the truth is that I do not know. The word does not specify. Sorry.

Disney says that all dogs go to Heaven - hahaha ok ok I will be serious. :)

If pets do go to heaven, their owners will also have to go to heaven to see them, I would think. The Bible makes it clear that the majority of people will not go to heaven,

These verses came to mind.

Romans 8:22-25 (New King James Version)
22 For we know that the whole creation groans and labors with birth pangs together until now. 23 Not only that, but we also who have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, eagerly waiting for the adoption, the redemption of our body.

Kayla,

Scripture doesn't say anything (that I know about) regarding whether specific animals will go to heaven.  However, there is indication that animals will be in the Millenial Kingdom.

Isaiah 11:6 is a prophecy telling us that in 'that day' (verse 10) The time of universal peace will come in the future reign of The Lord...  His resting place will be glorious.

Verses 6-7 give some indication that animals will be part of the Millenial Kingdom....But we don't know if they are our 'previously owned' animals...or new ones.

Peace will prevail among all of God's Creation...  Amazing!

I understand this may raise more questions about what the Millenial Kingdom is.. which is good.  Keep asking. :-)

Blessings, Carla

I'm so sorry to hear about your loss. I had two cats die from old age in about a year and a half. I know it's hard. I trust that God remembered Noah and that He will also remember the animals.

But God remembered Noah and all the wild animals and the livestock that were with him in the ark, and he sent a wind over the earth, and the waters receded. (Genesis 8:1)

I don't know what that means exactly, but we will have animals in His kingdom.  Like horses.  :-)

And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean. (Revelation 19:14)

Love and God bless,

Mary

I'm so looking forward to Jesus' return. Know you all understand.   :-)

Yes.  Amen.

But there's no place in the Bible that says they don't have a soul. It's an open interpretation.

This is  a question that even SOLOMON the wisest man on earth asked himself..

ECCLESIASTES 3 :18 I also said to myself, “As for humans, God tests them so that they may see that they are like the animals. 19 Surely the fate of human beings is like that of the animals; the same fate awaits them both: As one dies, so dies the other. All have the same breath[c]; humans have no advantage over animals. Everything is meaningless. 20 All go to the same place; all come from dust, and to dust all return. 21 Who knows if the human spirit rises upward and if the spirit of the animal goes down into the earth?

 Well obviously  only GOD knows!

We know there  are  horses in heaven 2 Kings 2:11 As they were walking along and talking together, suddenly a chariot of fire and horses of fire appeared and separated the two of them, and Elijah went up to heaven in a whirlwind.

Also Revelations and Isaiah   definitely  speak of animals in the kingdom.  Animals have  always been  obedient to God like Balaam's donkey in Numbers or the lion (1 Kings 13 )that was commanded to kill the man of god from Judah for his disobedience but the lion did not eat his body.. clearly going against his  animal nature to obey God ( unlike humans ) , So whether this means they have a soul or not I don't know, only God knows, but we can learn from them to be obedient to GOD even if it means going against our "sinful nature ". They will probably be witnesses against us at JUDGEMENT DAY.

Deuteronomy 30 :19 This day I call the heavens and the earth as witnesses against you that I have set before you life and death, blessings and curses. Now choose life, so that you and your children may live 20 and that you may love the Lord your God, listen to his voice, and hold fast to him.

Well maybe part of this" heavens and earth " will include the animals I understand it as the whole creation.
