All About GOD

All About GOD - Growing Relationships with Jesus and Others

My sister that just got out of jail was saved on Sat. at a Ladies Retreat.  It was awesome!  The devil didn't like it and so he put someone else in her path that led her back to pig pen of sin that same night.  Satan moves fast.  To see I am disheartened about this is an understatement.  The battles that are coming before me are harder now...because they are battles for the souls of my loved ones.  Has anyone ever fought this type of battle?  I need direction in this area.  I will not let Satan have my sister!

Love never fails beloved. Love NEVER fails. Keep loving her though she falls a thousand times, our Lord is able to keep her. We all have different and similar experiences in our journey with our Lord, but his faithfulness endures forever.

Pray for her fervently and talk to her as God leads you. She will be in my prayers.

Lord she is yours, she is yours, keep her as you and only you know how. We love you and praise you my Lord. Jesus rebuke Satan from her life and give her time to establish a firm foundation in you. Amen

Hi Michelle, God bless you!

The battle has only just begun. She's a baby Christian. She will mess up and get tricked. The good news is God loves her, we love her and she will improve. She may have the equipment to smack satan in the snoot, but she doesn't know how to use the equipment yet. She must see you do it and learn. We are living epistles.

Ye are our epistle written in our hearts, known and read of all men: (2 Corinthians 3:2)

So being affectionately desirous of you, we were willing to have imparted unto you, not the gospel of God only, but also our own souls, because ye were dear unto us. (1 Thessalonians 2:8)

Love,

Mary

Praise God for her Salvation.

You have already gotten great input from David and Mary...there's no need to add to what they have said.

However, I believe it is important to let her know about the spiritual battle she has entered into.  Let her know how satan seeks to steal, kill and destroy, but how Jesus came to give us life abuntantly...  and what that means is that we will know and learn how to rest in and trust Him for all things.  HE Himself is the abundance which He promises and offers, not health, wealth and prosperity. Teach her about the whole armor of God in Ephesians 6:10-18.  Invite her to come here on AAG. :-)

As Mary said, she is a baby Christian... she has time to learn and grow now.

Do you think she would be open to talking to you about this?

Blessings, Carla

Hi Michelle, God bless you!

She needs to hear you pray. You could call and pray with her. Teach her prayer is a pipeline with God. When she sees answered prayers, she will get the message...Hey, we call on God and He hears us. You can share Matthew 18:19.

Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven. (Matthew 18:19)

When God responds, rejoice with her. It's a big deal for a baby Christian.

Ask God to show you satan's attack(s) before he arrives. You can see the attack coming and lessen the impact. You have Holy Spirit and you are equipped to stop the enemy's attack(s). When you do this, it's so dynamic. It does so much for a new Christian's belief and strength. You walk out in front of the enemy and protect the new Christian. Satan has a short attention span anyway. He will get tired of being kicked around. He has to completely change his approach and that takes time which you need to help your sister grow in God's word.

Putting ideas out there. I hope this is okay. This is how I view me when I have new Christians around. I imagine they sort of hop into my back pocket. When I was a baby, I had someone gently move me aside and he faced satan's attack head on and took care of it. It was a good thing too, because I was scared. I've never forgotten it they way he handled it made such an impression on me.

You could also agree to read certain parts of the word and then call and talk about it. It would be fun.   :-)

Love,

Mary

Hi Michelle, God bless! I feel like I can talk to you and vent about family a little bit. Thanks for listening.

I know what you're talking about. You grow up with someone and you think you know them. My family has been crazy since my dad passed away. We were told to stop by the house and pick up a few keepsakes that we'd like to have. Mom wasn't going to come back to the house, but we were all invited to choose keepsakes before things got auctioned off. I was the only one who showed. At the time it was devastating to have to sort through things by myself. I chose a few keepsakes. Everything I chose fit in the trunk of my car. Gary and I don't have the energy or the funds to travel back and forth. It's 6 hours one-way. Plus a hotel for two nights. Most of my siblings are mad and haven't spoken to me since. They aren't that great. I have one sister who has kept in touch.

My youngest brother took the money after the household goods were auctioned, and he has the money from the house. That was sold too. All of those funds have vanished. He refused to sign papers for mom to have hospice care. Except for one sister, the rest split on mom. Even so, I alone signed the papers for mom to have hospice care. The supervisor at the hospice care asked how many siblings do you have? There's six of us. The nursing home is investigating four of my siblings. I don't know how that is going to end.

Thanks for listening.

Love,

Mary

With hospice care, I can request a minister stop by for mom. He would have visited anyway, but he gets less resistance from the nursing home staff because mom has hospice care and his visits are requested. Without the hospice care, I wouldn't know if she got to worship and hear about God or not. I can't let satan cut mom off like that. She's older and can't stand up for herself as well as she used to. The hospice care is very important.

The last time the minister stopped by, he prayed with mom and she was finishing sentences for him. She finished reading a Bible verse or said amen. She got to have communion. I got a call after work with a full report.

Love you!

Hi Michelle, God bless!

I hope this doesn't come across harsh. If it does, I'm very sorry. I had someone who asked for prayer recently and she lied. It's difficult for me to take her prayers seriously because she lied. And she asks for prayer all the time and I pray with others for her.

We never pray in such a way that we mock God or use and abuse God. God has feelings. Example praying for someone with bad blisters on her feet. But God says she needs new shoes. I might say something like...Oh by the way, get new shoes, your shoes aren't fitting right and you know that.

Plenty of people need prayers. We don't use God. We should pray for forgiveness and mercy for your sister.

Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. (Galatians 6:7)

Love,

Mary

It's great to talk. Thank you! I don't get to talk to you all that often. Galatians is the only epistle where Paul does not thank God for them. Maybe he was trying to get their attention??? I think they passed around the epistles to be read in other churches too.  They may have been a little embarrassed. I know Paul loved them. I know that Paul prayed for them. He wished grace to them and peace. But Paul was amazed at how soon they had foresaken the gospel of Christ. I feel like they got a spanking from Paul, but also a lot of encouragement. Just like with my friend, I have to have a good talk with her. I just found out that she lied. The moment I found out, wasn't the time to talk about it. I wanted to talk to her about it just between us.

The Messiah has set us free so that we may enjoy the benefits of freedom. So keep on standing firm in it, and stop putting yourselves under the yoke of slavery again. (Galatians 5:1 ISV)

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law. (Galatians 5:22,23 ESV)

I love these verses from Galatians. "I'm free!" That's one of the first things I said when I got delivered.

Love,

Mary
