I was baptized when I was a baby. Do you only do it once?

Baptism as an infant isn't a choice for the individual. It was a choice by the parents so the baptism has no affects on the one that was baptized. So, the choice has to be yours to make as a Christian. Once someone comes to Christ, they are to be baptized. As an infant, you don't make the choice to come to Christ.

Jim,

Infant baptism is worthless in terms of salvation.  It may symbolize the parents' dedication to raise their child for God, but it does nothing to save the soul of the infant.

When someone believes that Jesus is the Christ, has repented of his sins, and confessed their belief that Jesus is the Christ publicly, baptism is the act that connects them with the saving Blood of Christ.  Read Romans 6:1-14 and Colossians 2:11-14.

This must be done by someone who is old enough to understand the need for a Savior.  Someone who understands that they have sinned and can then turn away from that sin (repent).  An infant cannot understand sin, nor can they repent, so they are not eligible to be baptized for the forgiveness of their sins.

As an aside, infants are not born with the "original sin" counted against them.  They are born "safe" in God's arms.  They will not be condemned until they choose sin over God.

You make several assertions here that cannot be substantiated by you, even though I am sure you will try to toss out several verses in an attempt to prove your point ...

1. Your view of baptism connecting you to the blood of Jesus ...

2. Your view regarding infants not being born with original sin ...

3. Your view that we are saved from birth and would remain so if we do not choose sin over God ...
