Men are from Mars and Women are from Mars

I'd like to forward this quote from a woman named Maya Angelou: "A woman's heart should be so wrapped up in the Lord that a man has to seek God to find it." Many women I've talked to in the Christian circles of Facebook have this as one of their favorite quotes. This is so true. It's a reminder to both sexes that 100% is required from both. Our glorious visions of chivalry mean nothing if the crown jewel of God's creation (the woman) is not wrapped up in God. "Beauty is fleeting" when t Continue

The Ocsillation of Morality

There is something that saddens me when I see it, when I look at the big picture. I’m as guilty of it as anyone else, because it’s a part of our fallen nature, but that’s no excuse to not crucify that part of my flesh daily. It’s a habit. It brings shame upon the Church. It is the oscillation of morality. Something that oscillates goes up and down across a line without ever going along the path of the line. Sunday sermon to Sunday sermon. From Israel’s failed worldly kings to God’s insti Continue

The Bible

Frantically trudging through the mud and blood of the battlefield a lone soldier fell to his face. The sounds of warfare choked his ears, the screams of bullets and men ricocheted off his mind, the light of the moon and fire illuminated the chaos and the smirk of the bomb that lay at his side. Opening eyes that begged him not too he found himself in a hospital bed. Wounded but alive the pain informed him that recovery would take time. A moment later his mind serenaded only one thought, at Continue

The Blessing of Burden

2 Corinthians 12:10 Therefore I am well content with weaknesses,...with distresses,...with difficulties, for Christ's sake; for when I am weak, then I am strong. Sadhu Sundar Singh, a Hindu convert to Christianity, became a missionary to his people in India. Late one afternoon, Sadhu was traveling on foot through the Himalayas with a Buddhist monk. It was bitterly cold and the wind felt like sharp blades slicing into their skins. Night was fast approaching when the monk warned Sadhu that Continue

A worty adventure

I would venture to say that based on the recent cultural fascination with extreme sports that most Americans are bored almost to tears; we have in fact grown so bored with our lives that we must risk our lives for 3 minutes of excitement just to feel alive! This isn’t anything new--every society that gained a level of wealth and comfort and leisure as ours has grown incredibly bored and used that wealth and leisure in reckless hobbies. Take for example, the British Aristocrats who nearly h Continue

The Audacity of Sacrifice.

My analytical mind has noticed something about the subconscious questions the Enemy puts into the minds of (especially) young men and young women. Upon meeting a person you’re “interested in,” the questions you may try to answer are “How can I be a man to this person?” or “How can I be a woman to this person?” Otherwise it’s “How can I prove myself a real man to this woman?” or “How can I prove myself a real woman to this man?” Then he/she will be interested in me! No, you don’t understan Continue

After thinking it over, I think the Holy Spirit would say, the term is not even scriptural. It's a man made division, made according to man's observations of people's personal approaches to shareing their faith. It's not enough for the religious spirit to put God in a box, but it has to put our brothers & sisters in their box as well. Just a thought. Tell me what you guys come up with, okay?

Hey Lynn,
Apologetics is the defense & proving of one's beliefs & convictions, like what Kent Hovin does and like those who go looking for the Mormans, J.W.s, Muslims, etc. to win them over to Christ. A formal defense in writing or speach of firmly held doctrines. Vindicating or justifying one's beliefs. In a broad sense, I guess you could say that as Christians, we are all involved in apologetics to some degree, but some of us just don't have the personality for heated debates & argueing. Others just aren't as quick at coming up with just the right scriptures to refute the lies. That would be a good discusstion question to put to Matthew! Are we all called to apologetics? I'm not sure myself & I've been a Christian for almost 40 years!

That is so far beyond cool! That kind of friendship must be such an incredible blessing to you. I have some special friends, that when we get together & pray & they lay hands on me, I feel like the lights of the city must dim! The power & love & anointing of God is just so AWESOME to move in! At times I still fall prey to low self-esteem & worrying what people think. I want to be truly dead to that! Then I won't feel like such a 'leaky bucket'! You know what I mean? Matthew would be a really neat person to hang out with. I know God has a huge & unique calling on his life. (I have no clue to what that might look like. )You are a special person also Lynn! I can almost hear in your writing, the roots growing deeper & the leaves rustling & the fruit buds appearing. Keep seeking dilegently! True friendship is Christ is POWERFUL! You make Matthew want to be the best he can be & visa versa. I'm sure the Lord has turned it into a strength, but I can't imagine how lonely & misunderstood he must have been growing up. Wow! Good friends with loyal hearts are hard to come by. The Kent Hovin series was great, wasn't it? Made me sort of fighting mad about all the lies I grew up with! I'm not very good at apologetics tho'. It kinda goes over my head. I'm more of a nurturer, encourager, I think. Thankyou for the blessing! That's what I desire, the fire of God to bring fervorancy blazing in my heart! I'm learning just recently, not only to love my enemies & antagonists, but to actually become friends with those who love the Lord, but don't see eye to eye with me! It's quite the adventure! God is sooooo GOOD! Bless you brother!

He said that site was closed out in '07! I was just thinking too much, I guess. No wonder I was confused, laugh! It was like visiting a house someone had moved out of a while ago! I felt so dumb. Now i can't seem to get rid of their junk mail! Yes, i guess geniuses are used to people thinking they are up to something when they aren't. Tell him I'm sorry.

I found that thing Matthew set up. It's rather bizzare1 I think I joined something. Ha. ha! What is he trying to accomplish? Tell me on facebook.

I understand what you are saying. All the distractions! Even fellowship and doing God's will can't replace actually seeking Him in daily prayer & being changed by being in His presense! All the right 'sayings' in the world, won't move you closer to God, without putting the first thing first! Lincoln Brewster is cool! I like Lindell Cooley too. Be blessed!

You did fine Lennie. My husband thought he'd come to you defense about the Holiness post, but there really isn't any need to. Those who can hear, will hear. Be in the perfect peace of a son of God.

Ha, ha! My eyes missed my own misspelled words! I guess you can figure out that I meant, Christ & young men. Have a blessed day of drawing closer to our Lord & Savior! I tell my son this a lot; Have more faith in the greatness of God, than in your own ability to 'screw up'! He is desperately determined to see you fulfill your destiny in Christ & be conformed to His image. Again, be blessed bro!
