All About GOD - Growing Relationships with Jesus and Others

Today as I was reading in John chapter 18 and 19, I saw a few things that I would like to share. Here in John 18:1 1 When He had finished praying,... we see Jesus in complete control. It was after He had finished Praying, then He went to meet those who arrested Him.
4 Jesus, knowing all that was going to happen to Him, went out and asked them, “Who is it you want?” 5“Jesus of Nazareth,” they replied. “I am He,” Jesus said. (And Judas the traitor was standing there with them.) 6 When Jesus said, “I am He,” they drew back and fell to the ground. 7 Again He asked them, “Who is it you want?” And they said, “Jesus of Nazareth.” 8“I told you that I am He,” Jesus answered. “If you are looking for Me, then let these men go.” 9This happened so that the words he had spoken would be fulfilled: “I have not lost one of those you gave me. We continue to see just how much He was in complete control. When He told them who He Is, they were humbled and fell to the ground!

Then in verse 36 and Pilate was trying to get to the bottom of it all. Jesus told him Who He Is. 36 Jesus said, “My Kingdom is not of this world. If it were, My servants would fight to prevent My arrest by the Jews. But now My Kingdom is from another place.” 37“You are a king, then!” said Pilate. Jesus answered, “You are right in saying I am a King. In fact, for this reason I was born, and for this I came into the world, to testify to the truth. Everyone on the side of truth listens to me.”We begin to see Pilate and how all this affected him. Also, we see how he acted, because of his time with Jesus. “ Everyone on the side of truth listens to me.” I found this interesting. Pilate heard as he listened to Jesus.

John 19:4,6 4 Once more Pilate came out and said to the Jews, “Look, I am bringing him out to you to let you know that I find no basis for a charge against him.” 6 As soon as the chief priests and their officials saw him, they shouted, “Crucify! Crucify!” But Pilate answered, “You take him and crucify him. As for me, I find no basis for a charge against him.” We see Pilate knowing Jesus was Completely Innocent! 7 The Jews insisted, “We have a law, and according to that law He must die, because he claimed to be the Son of God.” 8 When Pilate heard this, he was even more afraid, 9 and he went back inside the palace. “Where do you come from?” he asked Jesus, but Jesus gave him no answer. 10“Do you refuse to speak to me?” Pilate said. “Don’t you realize I have power either to free you or to crucify you?” 11 Jesus answered, “You would have no power over Me if it were not given to you from above. Therefore the one who handed me over to you is guilty of a greater sin.” verse 15 Shall I crucify your king?” Pilate asked. “We have no king but Caesar,” the chief priests answered. Again, Jesus in complete control. From this account we continue to see how Pilate was touched by Jesus. In contrast we see the “chief priest” and the rest who wanted Jesus dead. And Pilate yes, He was torn between many things. Yet, he knew if only impart who Jesus Is. After all the horrible events, Our Dear Lord went through. It was time.

19 Pilate had a notice prepared and fastened to the cross. It read: jesus of nazareth, the king of the jews. 20Many of the Jews read this sign, for the place where Jesus was crucified was near the city, and the sign was written in Aramaic, Latin and Greek. 21 The chief priests of the Jews protested to Pilate, “Do not write ‘The King of the Jews,’ but that this man claimed to be king of the Jews.” 22 Pilate answered, “What I have written, I have written. He wanted all to know how Jesus Is! Then in verse 28 28 Later, knowing that all was now completed, and so that the Scripture would be fulfilled, {Ps 22:15 My strength has dried up like sunbaked clay. My tongue sticks to the roof of my mouth. You have laid me in the dust and left me for dead.} Jesus said, “I am thirsty.” 29 A jar of wine vinegar was there, so they soaked a sponge in it, put the sponge on a stalk of the hyssop plant, and lifted it to Jesus’ lips. { Ps 69:21 They put bitter herbs in my food and for my thirst they gave me vinegar to drink} 30 When He had received the drink, Jesus said, “It is finished.” With that, He bowed His head and gave up His Spirit.

From start to finished Jesus shows us He is choosing you, me, and the rest of our Family. No matter what was and had gone on, Jesus while on the Cross continued to fulfill the Scriptures. He chose when, where, and how! For Pilate to see through the chief priest and his gang. For Pilate to accept the words of Our Lord. For him to see Jesus as innocent. We know without blemish; without sin, accept the sins of all, yet not one was His own. He was beaten, His body ripped to shreds, but still in control. All in complete obedience to The Father. No matter the condition of the outside of the body, as long as our spirits are strong and connected to the Holy Trinity we are able to finish the work set before us. All Praise and Glory to Our Lord and Savior, Jesus.
Lord Bless you All on this Easter.
