Rob-
Thanks for your comment. I agree about obedience. For a while I didn't even know what that meant, and then I understood that God was always speaking to us, but we were locked into saying "no" continually. So, I think obedience is about getting in agreement with the Lord.

Six keys to personal Success!
The true success is the achievement of the very best way of life, one that results from the application of God standards and that harmonizes with his purpose for us. A person who leads such a life, the bible says, will “become like a tree planted by streams of water, that gives its own fruit in its season and the foliage does not wither, and everything he does he does will succeed” Psalm 1:3.
Everyone is imperfect and makes mistakes, our lives as a whole can be resounding success. The following six bible principles can help us to reach our aim.
1. keep money in its place
The love of money is the root of all sorts of evil, and by reaching by this love some have……stabbed themselves all over with many pains" 1Timothy 6:10 .Note that the issue is not money itself which we all need to care for ourselves and our families But the love of money. In reality, love makes one’s master or God. People who avidly chase after riches as a key to success are, in fact pursuing a mirage. Besides inviting disappointment, they invite many pains. When people pursue money they can even sacrifice relationship and family and friends. If not because of work, because of anxiety or worry (Ecclesiastes 5:12).Money is not a just a cruel master but a deceitful one as well (Mark 4:19). The man who loves money will never have enough (Ecclesiastes 5:10).More closely linked to happiness and success are generosity, a forgiving attitude, moral cleanness, love, and spirituality
2. Cultivate a generous disposition
There is more happiness in giving that receiving (Acts 20:35).While occasional, giving can produce moment of happiness; a generous disposition can bring a state of happiness. One of the best ways, and often the most appreciated, is given oneself (Roman 12:1-2).Those who give generously according to their means do not suffer lost because of it (proverbs 11:25).God loves a cheerful giver (2corinthians 9:7, Hebrews 13:16).please we should not have poverty mentality, but the little that we have we must give, for GOD BLESS THE SOWER. In Africa, If one is teaching about giving, most people say, “I don’t have” If you have in mind that you don’t have, you will never get anything from the Lord, the little that you have will be taking away from you.
3. Forgive freely
Forgive one another freely if anyone has a course of complaint against another, even God freely forgive us, so do we also. (Colossians 3:13).Forgiveness brings healing. Forgiving attitude is not just a good social lubricant but also god medicine!
4. Comply with God’s standards
The commandment of God is clean, making the eye shine (psalm 19:8).To be simple, God’s standard is good for us, physically, mentally, and emotionally. Among other things they shield us from such harmful practices as drug abuse, drunkenness, sexual misconduct, and viewing pornography. (2 Corinthians 7:1; Colossians 3:5).
On the positive side, those who comply with God’s standards foster wholesome, secure relationship, as well as self-respect and inner peace (Isaiah 48:17, 18).
5. Show unselfish Love
Love build up (1corithians 8:1). Can you imagine a life without love? What a hallow, unhappy existence that will be! If I do not have love for others I am nothing, I am not profited at all. Apostle Paul wrote this under divine inspiration (1 corinthins13:2-3). The form of Love mentioned here is not the sexual kind, which of course has it place. Rather, it is richer, more, lasting governed by Godly principle (Matthew 22:37-39).Moreover, is not passive, in the sense of receiving it, but active, in the sense of showing it. Please you may read more on love from the bible about relationship and love of the truth (1 Corinthians 13:4-8; Ephesians 5:33, 6:4, Colossians 3:20, John 17:17, Mark 10:9).
6. Be conscious of your spiritual need!!!
Happy are those conscious of their spiritual needs (Matthew 5:3). Unlike animals, humans have capacity to appreciate spiritual things. Hence we ask the question as, what is the purpose of Life. Is there a creator? What does the future holds? Worldwide, million of people believe that the bible answered those questions above correctly. God has purpose for mankind, and what is that purpose? It is for us to inherent the Garden of Eden Again. That is why he send His only begotten son that who ever believes in him and do his will, will never perish like our fore fathers (Adam and Ewe). Clearly, our creator wants more for us than temporary success for a few days on earth. He want us to be successful forver. So now is the time for us to learn about our creator.

Honey gives the body sugar for energy .Honey is sweet. That is why when people get into marriage, the first day the couples go out, it is called honey moon .Everything that happen that day is full of happiness. They get to know each other better on that day. Their heart is filling with love for each other. In the same way, when one become born again (a new child born of GOD), there is joy within that fellow. The honey symbolized the word of GOD. We read about the word of GOD tasting like honey psalm 119:103 How sweet are your words to my taste, sweeter than honey to my mouth

One thing about the word of GOD is that the letter kills but the spirit gives life. In the book of 2corithians 3:6 its says He has made us competent as ministers of new covenant, not of the letter but the spirit, for the letter kills but the spirit give life The letters of the bible will not profit you but the spirit behind it brings life and happiness to our souls .if you read the bible for reading sake and not allowing the spirit to direct you, You will be spiritual dead. The revealed word or the prophetic message behind the text gives life to the soul. Psalm 19:10 Says they are more precious than gold, than much pure gold; they are sweeter than honey, than honey from the comb The word of GOD can be sweet to you like honey or honeycomb if the spirit of GOD lead you.

The word of GOD is the energy we need in every single day. Every good Christian has to read the bible every day for nourishment of the souls. It also help or equip us for the battle we are facing and the next day we need more .Only through the word of God that one life can change. It gives correction when you are going astray. The book of Hebrews 3:13 says encourage one another daily, as long us it is called a day, so that none of you may be hardened by sins deceitfulness. The battle is not against flesh and blood, we must prepare every day by reading the word of GOD.

The word of GOD is strong more than anything; Hebrews 4:12 says THE WORD OF GOD IS LIVING AND ACTIVE.SHARPER THAN ANY DOUBLE EDGE SWORD, IT PENETRATES TO THE DIVIDING SOUL AND THE SPIRIT,JOINTS AND MARROW; IT JUDGES THE THOUGHTS AND ATTITUDES OF THE HEART, SOULS AND SPIRIT, BOTH JOINTS AND MARROW. According to the bible, man is a tripartite being ________ spirit, soul and body (1thes.5:23. In this verse there are joints and marrow which are part of the body, and soul and spirit. So by reading the word of GOD every day, you are feeding your soul , spirit and the body with the living word .The tripartite being will be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ .Remember that the one that call you is faith and He will do it.

Hi Rob, I see you downloaded a video by Bebo Norman. I just heard a new song by him on the Christian radio that was so cool and it was directed to Brittany Spears. Her story is so sad. When my daughter was 9 or 10 she loved her music, but I remember when i had to ban her music videos because they became so perverse. I hope some how this song that Bebo did will find its way to her.

I rejoice with you in your victory over smoking. I have to say God delivered me because i tried to quit for 4 years and never could quit for good until 2-09-79 when I was at a church praise service and it was there and then I was baptized in the Holy Spirit and completely delivered from smoking as well as drinking and drugs. I never looked back and have been free for almost 30 years. I struggled with these things for 4 years as a Christian and in a moment I was free. Then God began to do the real work of dealing with the deeper issues in my life as he has been doing to this day.
In the love of Jesus.
Bob

Welcome to AAG. We want your experience here to be positive and uplifting. There are a couple of things that can help you maximize your experience.

Forums and Blogs: Forums are for asking questions and for sharing a response to a question someone has posted. This is a great opportunity for “iron to sharpen iron.” Blogs are for posting an opinion, view or specific message regarding a subject.

Making New Friends: You will make many new friends here on AAG. Some will send a friend invite to you. You have the choice to accept or decline. When an invite has been sent to you the “My Friends” the upper right box on your home page will be followed by the word “New”.” Simply click on the icon and make your choice. To invite someone to be your friend you simply need to go to their home page and click on “add as friend” under their personal photo. Once someone is your friend you will be able to email each of your friends on AAG. You can also leave a message on someone personal page, but note that everyone will be able to read what you leave there.

IMs: You can IM anyone who is on line by clicking on their picture located at the upper right part of the page.
