Becky, Thank you so much. With all the prayers that are going up, blessings WILL come down. We may be in the mist of a storm right now but God is holding onto us. He is working behind the scenes for the greater good. We don't know the outcome or may not understand the outcome but He will never leave or forsake us.
I will be praying for your son as well.

Thank you so much Betty and Theresa. I need all the prayer I can get concerning my family. I am still smoke free. Today makes the forth day with the patch on. I know I can do this.

dawn know i am praying for you and your family. as far as your son goes just keep praying. i know what it is like to want something different for your family members and the pain of seeing things stay the same. i prayed for my dad to be saved for over 20 years and i thought at times he would never be saved but he became ill with cancer and was on his death bed and out of the blue (he was in and out of a coma at this point) woke up and asked how to have Jesus in his heart. we called my pastor and he came and lead my dad to the Lord! my dad died a week later. i tell you this to encourage you to keep praying and leave it in God's hands - you can't change others - only pray for them. God Bless! btw- how is the smoking going - i am praying for you.

Thank you Jesus for Dawn's love and obedience to you and thank you a zillion time for your love, goodness, mercy and faithfulness to her as she fast and seek you for this situation, thank you Lord for giving her all the strength she needs and filling her heart with love, peace and joy in your name Jesus I pray.

5 Is this the kind of fasting I have chosen? Should people humble themselves for only a day? Is fasting just bowing your head like a cattail and making your bed from sackcloth and ashes? Is this what you call fasting? Is this an acceptable day to the LORD?

6 This is the kind of fasting I have chosen: Loosen the chains of wickedness, untie the straps of the yoke, let the oppressed go free, and break every yoke. (Isaiah 58:5-6)

Yes today is the day for me to fast for the first time. I also put on the stop smoking patch. All ashtrays have been cleaned and either thrown out or put away. (My husband smokes). Please keep me in prayer as today is the first day without a cigarette. As soon as I woke up this morning at 5:35, I put the patch on. I used to smoke as soon as my eyes opened. I returned clothes I bought over the weekend to get (2) boxes of Nicoderm CQ. The boxes will take care of the first month. I picked them up from Walmart and they cost $78.00. I usually spend about $ 63.00 a week on cigs. Wow, what a savings. God is so good.
