An encouragement poem I found online

PERSEVERANCE

Lord, my spirit is willing,
But my flesh is so weak;
God, every day I cry out to you,
Yet I don’t hear you speak.

I’ve been beaten so many times.
You know what I’ve been through;
I can’t overcome this giant.
Yet it’s the only thing I must do.

I fought this trial too many times.
I used all the strength in me;
Yet I lost in every battle,
And once again I’m not free.

Lord, I’m tempted to just call it quits,
And lay here on the ground;
I will let the giant win again.
I have fought too many rounds.

As I am now at my lowest,
Tears flow down my cheeks;
I cry out to God again,
“Jesus, I am just too weak!”

Suddenly I felt my body
Being lifted up by my Lord;
He helped me back on my feet,
And said, “Lets do this once more.”

I stood up to that giant,
And fought as hard as I could;
He used old tactics to make me give up.
Yet he only thought I would.

I was determined to not back down.
I had been here long enough;
It’s not the number of times I get hit.
It’s the number of times I get up.

God would never fail you its in his words God cannot lie.I know How you feel I am going through the same feeling myself.I stay in my word I know that I am not perfect person and Iam going to make mistakes in life.We are human we are going to feel depressed at times But the key to healing ourselves is loving ourselves.Showing yourself compassion.Telling ourselves that even If Iam depressed God is still with me.You have to tell yourself this everyday.What helps me with my depression is.Forgiveness I use to hold bitter feeling about people that wrong me I took it personal.I would want to write them off or think something wicked would happen to them but that was not of God I had to ask for forgiveness.I try to live in the precious present We can't change the past.We don't know what the future hold all we know is what going on right now When we think of negative thinks of the past that how the devil let fear anxiety and depression manifest in our lives.I learning to be less effected and more effective.With God all things are possible.Love concurs all.God bless you:)

Hello I would like to tell you that, its okay. What I have learned about these kind of feelings is that the enemy wants you to feel that way to make you lose your trust in God, I have been there just recently. So I just recite some verses on God's love.

God's love and mercy for us

John 10:11, 15:13, "I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep... Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends."
John 10:10, "...I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly."
Psalm 145:9, "The LORD is good to all: and his tender mercies are over all his works."
Lamentations 3:22-23, "It is of the LORD'S mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness."
Psalms 145:8, "The LORD is gracious, and full of compassion; slow to anger, and of great mercy."
2 Corinthians 5:18-19, "And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation; To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation."
1 Corinthians 2:9, "But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him."
Romans 2:4, "Or despisest thou the riches of his goodness and forbearance and longsuffering; not knowing that the goodness of God leadeth thee to repentance?"
Psalms 103:8-13, "The Lord is merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and plenteous in mercy. He will not always chide: neither will he keep his anger for ever. He hath not dealt with us after our sins; nor rewarded us according to our iniquities. For as the heaven is high above the earth, so great is his mercy toward them that fear him. As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us. Like as a father pitieth his children, so the Lord pitieth them that fear him." (Remember, I believe the word 'fear' here simply means to respect - not the same kind of fear as being scared or afraid of Him)
John 3:16, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life."
1 John 3:1, "Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God..."
1 John 4:16, "And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him."
Romans 5:8, "But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners." (NLT)
1 John 4:9, "In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him."
Romans 8:38-39, "For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord."
2 Peter 3:9, "The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance."
1 Timothy 2:3-4, "For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour; Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth." (God wants everybody possible to goto heaven!!)
Eph 2:4-7, "But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us, Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;) And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus: That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus."
Luke 11:13, "If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?"
Luke 15:10, "Likewise, I say unto you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner that repenteth."
Luke 15:20, "And he arose, and came to his father. But when he was yet a great way off, his father saw him, and had compassion, and ran, and fell on his neck, and kissed him." (This is the parable of the son who took half his dad's money and ran away, then returned home and his father saw his son and was moved with compassion. So is it with our heavenly Father, when we turn to Him and repent, He is moved with compassion and welcomes us with open arms.)
Jeremiah 31:3, "The LORD hath appeared of old unto me, saying, Yea, I have loved thee with an everlasting love: therefore with lovingkindness have I drawn thee."
Isaiah 30:18, "Therefore the LORD longs to be gracious to you, And therefore He waits on high to have compassion on you. For the LORD is a God of justice; How blessed are all those who long for Him." (NASB)
Psalm 33:5, "He loves righteousness and justice; The earth is full of the lovingkindness of the LORD."
Psalm 107:8-9, "Oh that men would praise the LORD for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men! For he satisfieth the longing soul, and filleth the hungry soul with goodness."
Psalms 117:2, "For his merciful kindness is great toward us: and the truth of the LORD endureth for ever. Praise ye the LORD."
Psalms 31:19, "Oh how great is thy goodness, which thou hast laid up for them that fear thee; which thou hast wrought for them that trust in thee before the sons of men!"
My favorite is "And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose." This verse tells me constently that no matter what happens God will turn the worst into the best, because I love and trust in him.

I will keep you in prayer and remember God loves you when no one else does

DeeDee, I know you are hurting and the loss of your brother was something that happened and it will always hurt in some way. I want to reach out to you from Detroit Michigan and say I understand your pain of being alone and losing your man and feeling that you want to be married and spend your life with someone. I will tell you that the reason why you haven't met anybody and the reason why your relationship with your child's father may have ended is because God may want you to step back and give him some of your time and attention. Sometimes we lose focus on the father and who it is that gives us the true measure of love. God's love is painless we allow ourselves to be hurt because we put our trust in Men not God and even scripture tell us that Gods commandment is:

You shall have no other gods before me.
Exodus 20:3-6 (RSV)

So, the question I had to ask myself after one failed relationship after another was when I am in a relationship do I make sure the I keep my relationship with God first? or do I put my all into that man? Well my answer was the man came first. And I honored the relationship with these men over God and God will eliminate anything that you place above him. So I took a step back looked at each relationship and for the last 3 months I have been in a period of self reflection I call it my period of revitalization, restoration and education. I started working out to get off the extra weight, eating better, praying, reading and carefully and painfully examining all the mistakes I made with men. And I am telling you God will show you just where you went wrong and how he wants to help you make it right. Please, think about taking a year or even six months and making God the center of your thoughts and day to day living. Meditate on his word and know as you do. Those things that distracted you from God in the first place (your man) will return to try to get your focus off of God but be strong and please let me know how your doing.

Hello friend!
I praise God you are here! You are in the right place! I have been here as a moderator for about 2 years and i have seen this site grom and grow soo much. I am soo glad that I ran in to you. I struggle with anxiety and depression daily. But, God has delivered me from other things that I was doing to myself and others for about 28 years. I got saved when i was 28 when I was readly to die. I had no hope. But now I do. I love it when sisters like you struggle with various issues because I have been there and done that, and would love to help. I am not perfect and never will be. there are some issues still that God is helping me with, but I am delivered from other addictions that were killing me. I had 2 uncles commit suicide, an aunt tried to commit suicide, I lost a father to alcoholism, my mom was OCD, and a perfectionist,my grandparents were hard to please, and I was raped, and prostituted my self. I then started anorexia and in 2 years I weighed only 86 pounds and i am 5 foot 8 inches. Yes, I was whacked!!! Yes, I was a real pill! I admit that I wasnt the best person to be with, but God loved me enough to save me. and my friend, whatever you did and whatever you do now, God still loves you and will never fail you even though it feels like He has. Just this week I was like,"God WHERE R U??" I cry out to Him to hear Him, but sometimes I dont hear Him. If I look in my bible while praying, I usually come to a scripture that helps me . Try it and you will see God is trying to talk to you.
I am soo sorry about what you have had to endure. I am sure you were pretty upset at God, and who wouldnt be? But, honey, he doesnt wish to hurt His kids. This was an accident and maybe it was his time to go, I dont know. But always know that God is good, and He promised to never leave you nor forsake you!!!
Well, I would love to get to know you more, so please come over and visit me. I am here for you...I would love to get to know you better! I can tell that you want the Lord soo bad and to heal. So do I!!!
God Bless you!!

Dear Dee Dee
I am pleased that you are here. Your name caught my eye because I automatically thought of Dee Dee Freeman on The Word network. Do you know her and her husband? Oh, I love the Word network. If you havent wathed it, you should. They have great pastors on there like,TD Jakes,Paula White, Joyce meyer,Juanita Byrum, and more. I love the name Dee dee.

This is Paige, another moderator here on TheNet, and Im very blessed to have you join our community of believers, as we grow in the love and wisdom of our Lord . Its soo neat to meet new friends here from all around the world . You will find TheNet a safe place to get to know other believers and share your love and life in Christ.
I really like it here because its a great online source of Christian information,and fellowship. When I find it hard to get out of the house or hard to get to church, I get online and get "filled" with His word and all the other believers and thier prayers. Its soo good to know that when Im hurting there are others that are too and in need of the same love and support I do from the Lord. Praise God for His work on the Cross!!! We are all one body now and can work together to heal and help other members.

Also, Id like to invite you to come over and visit us in the Womens Group where women from all ages and all walks of life come to encourage and be encouraged to help, and be helped, to share thier wisdom with other women , and get prayer that we all need as women to continue in our faith and the path God has set before us all.

I hope to "see" you often and I would love to get to know you more as we walk this faith.
Im your friend, and if I can help or answer any questions for you, Im here.
God Bless you, Dee Dee!I cant wait to get to know you more.
