Yesterday we had a huge storm (by New York’s standards, really it was a mere whimper); which brought about some flooding and travel discomfort. Fortunately my husband and I remained unscathed despite the coming approach of the storm, and were able to attend our Shabbat service- -which was a very uplifting worship time, and message.

During worship there was a prophetic word that came forth regarding the captives (as you know those who are still lost to sin) and there being a season of deliverance for those who would be entering our synagogue. That word was very encouraging to our Rabbi and his wife who both toil day and night in prayer and community outreach in order to see un-believing Jews come to Yeshua. When Rabbi got to the point of explaining his message he turned to the person who gave the prophetic interpretation, and he commented that their sensitivity to the Ruah Hakodesh (the Holy Spirit) had been encouraging, because his message was on “Captivity, and the love of Yeshua”. Of course, because we are a messianic congregation that is in the midst of one of the United States’ largest Orthodox communities - - he always starts his message into the Torah (the Holy book), and then goes to the Brit’ Hadasha (New Testament). He began with the relationship of Abram and Lot, the quarrel that their shepherds had amongst themselves regarding grazing rights for their respective masters’ herds.

I share all this with you because I know I am writing this note when many of you have already had your worship service, and others are beginning their services (as we say at our house of worship “Shabbat Shalom”) which shows how the love of GOD is still ever lasting and has expanded in the course of time. Lot, the word says, took the choicest property because he sought the world’s understanding of prosperity, and Abram allowed him the pick of property because the love of Adonai was taking a greater place in his heart. For Abram’s step of faith (Hebrews 11:1), GOD gave him all, even what Lot believed to be his.

Are we our brother’s keeper? Yes, I believe we are; for as our Messiah has done so we should do in order to obtain the greater reward of picking up our crosses and following Him. Abram showed his willingness to pick up his cross (an imagery) by allowing the better portion to go to his beloved nephew; thus receiving a greater reward. Wouldn’t it be amazing if we all as believers walked in such simple faith? Instead of each of the Evangelical, and Messianic congregations seeking domain one over another, we just looked out for the others better interest…which is to see the lost come to salvation. We are preparing for the High Holidays at our Synagogue, and I would be so encouraged if you all would please pray for my Rabbi (Ron Corbett, and his wife Marcia), and Israel for the next month, as we all enter Rosh Hashanah ( The Jewish New Year); and Yom Kippur ( The time for atonement).

Yeshua continually made it known that he was came for the Jewish people first, so that the rest of the world would follow; I believe you all follow this understanding this is why we are all here. We all recognize that “we are saved by faith, and not of ourselves lest any man should boast”. Our salvation is secured by faith in Yeshua; but there are still many Jews, and our individual loved ones who have yet to take hold of this truth, please join with me in prayer for a revival within this New Year celebration as the world has never known.

Hi sister, thank you for your comment. One of my heart passions is to encourage African Christians. We here in the US have no clue of what our brothers and sisters face in Africa. I am encouraged every day from these dear souls. I thank God that even if I can not be there in person. I can still use the gifts the Holy Spirirt has given me to minister and strengthen them. It was over 20 years ago in a morning prayer group that God spoke to my heart about a great revival that would touch Africa. I have always hoped to go, but my physical limitations due to my disability make me wonder if I will ever go. If God wants me there, I will go and He will give me grace.

Hi Rew,
You said,
I attend a messianic temple in Long Island NY; and no, I ‘m not Jewish; but, the way GOD has been reveling things to mehas indicated that I could possibly have Jewish ancestors.
______
It really makes no difference. I am Italian but my daughter and grandchildren have some Hebrew blood. What is important is that when you trusted in Yeshua as the Lamb of God for the atonement of your sins you are now in God's family. Jews and Gentiles one new man benefiting from the new covenant for Israel and offered to all nations. There are many Messianic Congregation all over the US and in Israel. It is exciting what God is doing as we see the Second Coming of Messiah to set up His Kingdom on Earth. God bless you and you beloved husband.
I love your pictures also!

Greetings Rew,

We had a great Lord's Day. I am preaching through the Gospel of Matthew. We completed the chapter seven today. God is moving and our congregation is responding. We are still small, but serve a big God. May God's hand of provision and protection be upon you.

My sister, I am not offended at all with you. I have been blessed by our interaction.

It is really hard to talk on line some times, because we are just using words. In real life we communicate most of the time with body language, tone, expressions, so it is a little harder to talk this way.

It takes a lot to get me offended, I would rather get along with people.

WHY WE NEED THE HOLY SPIRIT
Jesus promised the disciples that they will be baptized with the Holy Spirit. So it came to Passed that the Holy Spirit came upon them as He promised in the book of acts 2:4. it is also written in the book of Acts 2:38 to 39( quoting verse 39, the promise is for you ,your children and for all who are far off______ for all whom the Lord God will call).Meaning that every Christian need the Holy Spirit for specific task. The bible says we should not be drunkard but we must be filled with the holy Spirit. You can read that in the book of Ephesians 5:18.Why we must not be drunkard? The answer is simple, the Holy Spirit is more powerful than alcoholic drink. He can do more for us than alcoholic spirit Let us look at the things the Holy Spirit can do for us.

The Holy Ghost always makes us to be committed. When truly the Holy Ghost is in you, you will devote everything about you to the Lord Jesus. You will give your whole life to Christ. That is why the bible says that the life that we Christians lived, it is no more we that lived but Jesus lived in us. Christians do not need alcoholic drink just as the people of the world need it to be committed to what ever they do. I dont know whether you have seen a drunkard before but let me tell you, they are committed to alcoholic drinks. If they wake up in the morning, the first thing they think of is where they can get some drink to take. They put all their hope on drinking alcohol. So you see, a good Christian have to put his or she hope in Christ Jesus every time. Remember that what is in you is greater than alcohol. If you have been to Africa, you would have known the real drunkard. They are very committed. We have to do more than these worldly people. We must be committed to our Lord Jesus Christ.

When one is full of the Holy Spirit, HE NEVER GETS WORRY ABOUT THINGS OF THIS WORLD. Just ask the bible says in the book of Matthew 6:25 Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is life not more important than food, and the body more important than clothes? Learn how to be happy with what you have, God knows what is good for you and at the right time he will provide. The Holy Spirit that is in you will help you not to border about things that perish. Let me briefly tell you something about my life since my infancy. I was a child when my father divorce my mother because of the faith, but my mother never gives up. We passed through a lot of problems but my mother hold firm to the faith. Sometimes what to eat was a problem for us. As the day went on, things started to change through the Holy Spirit. When I grown up, I still face difficulty, just us my mother taught me, I never get worry. I know it shall be well with me one day. I always comfort myself that after all I have something special within me that can change my situation.

So to be frank, worldly people like drunkard never get worry. All that they think about is their drink and how they can get access to one before they go to sleep. They dont border about the clothes that they put on. In Africa, drunkards can wear the same cloth for more than one month and they never get worry. Some so called Christian sometimes, say today I dont have new panties so I can not go to church. When the Holy Spirit is in you, you will never bother. What ever you have, you will only press it well and wear it to church. Truly our God is pure and it is not good to wear filthy clothes to church. All the time, be happy about what you have.

The Holy Spirit brings unity among brethren. We are one body and we have one spirit that controls us. This brings about the love that the Lord expects from us for each other. Allowing ourselves to be fill with the Holy Spirit, brings unity and love ( real love and unity).on the other side, drunkards are the most united people of the world. When one drunkard get drinks, he or she invite the rest of them to partake, even though they fight and quarrel, they do things together. How much more we that have the Holy Spirit, we do more than them because we have the true spirit. When the Holy Ghost came upon the first Disciples of Christ, they do almost everything together.

When the Holy Spirit comes upon you, you will be GENEROUS (someone that gives freely). If we read our bible well, peter was disgrace at the gate of beautiful when the crippled beggar as him for money (even though, the name of Jesus was glorified through the Holy Spirit). Although the crippled was healed, there was nothing in Peters pocket. So when he came to the congregation, the Holy Ghost changed the situation so that no needy person was found among them again. When He is upon you, you can easily give. People find it difficult to give or help the needy ones because the Holy Spirit is not in them. If you come to Africa or go to other continents, you will know how people need help (I mean suffering, we that go to the villages we see things for ourselves).

DRUNKARDS always give. They can give more than necessary and why cant we that are filled with the Holy Spirit not give. Let HIM control youre given.

When the Holy Spirit is upon you, you will be BOLD just as HE came upon peter and Peter became boldly. You can read that in the book of Acts 2:38, drunkards are always bold. Let me assure that most people drink because they want to be bold but we Christian dont need physical drink to be bold, the Holy Spirit is more than alcoholic drink. HE makes us bold in every area.

You will always have a SOUND MIND when HE is upon you. Dont have negative taught about people. The Holy Spirit let us into all truth. It makes us free within our bodies. In Africa here, drunkards are free they only concentrate on their drinks. We Christians have to talk about Jesus every day, because that is the greatest commission the LORD has instructed us.

When the Holy Spirit is upon someone, he or she can takes hot staff (face difficult problems).Never run from battle field because what is in him or her is greater than what is in the world. He or She shall surely over come. Things that are impossible for people will be possible for you. As for Drunkards, people that they can not beat them they claim that they will beat them, How much more we that have the power above all powers. Remember David and Goliath.

The Holy Spirit helps us to be LOYALTY, to become someone who always gives support or defend the faith. Drunkard are always support those that provide them with drinks. We Christian have to support our faith where ever we are and preach the word of God.

The holy spirit help us to walk with faith and we dont fear danger, all that we know is that it came by itself and it shall go but itself. Forward ever, backwards never. Drunkards also walk by faith, whether there is whole or not they find their way home. What about us? We do more than them.

The Holy Spirit will help you NEVER TO GIVE UP. In all situations you will stand firm. DRUNKARDS are troublesome and they never give up. We are always in the high spirit to face every problem that comes Christians are not trouble some.

To be simple and precise, without the holy ghost one can not enter into the kingdom God: so we need HIM to be; COMMITED, NEVER WORRY ABOUT THINGS OF THIS WORLD, TO GIVE GENEROULY,TO BE BOLD,TO HAVE SOUND MIND, TO FACE EVERY DIFFICULTY THAT COMES OUR WAYS,TO BE LOYALTY TO OUR LORD,TO WALK BY FAITH AND SO THAT WE CAN NEVER GIVE UP.

FROM THE FULLNESS OF HIS GRACE WE HAVE ALL
RECEIVED ONE BLESSING AFTER ANOTHER.
( JOHN 1:16 *NIV )

Always remember to count our blessings each day, and to
thank God for them! For no matter what we have, when we
look around us, we find others who have less! So never feel
sorry for ourself, instead start counting our blessings, for that
should cheer u up indeed.

Now we know that when things disappoint us, we are sad and
often depressed. However it is written that we should: BE
JOYFUL ALWAYS; PRAY CONTINUALLY; GIVE THANKS IN
ALL CIRCUMSTANCES, FOR THIS IS GOD'S WILL FOR YOU
IN JESUS CHRIST. ( 1 THESSALONIANS 5:16-18 )

Therefore, never feel that God doesn't hear our prayers
because a prayer isn't answered the way we want, or something
goes wrong in our life. For our Heavenly Father always knows
what is best for us, and: HE WILL NOT LEAVE YOU NOR
FORSAKE YOU. ( DEUTERONOMY 31:6 )

So my friend, remember to always: GIVE THANKS TO THE
LORD, CALL ON HIS NAME; MAKE KNOWN AMONG THE
NATIONS WHAT HE HAS DONE for you!
( 1 CHRONICLES 16:8 )

In closing, MAY THE GRACE OF THE LORD JESUS
CHRIST, AND THE LOVE OF GOD, AND THE
FELLOWSHIP OF THE HOLY SPIRIT BE WITH YOU ALL,
now and always! Amen! ( 2 CORINTHIANS 13:14 )

Value Life...........

Long time ago, there was an Emperor who told his horseman that if he could ride on his horse and cover as much land area as he likes, then the Emperor would give him the area of land he has covered.
Sure enough, the horseman quickly jumped onto his horse and rode as fast as possible to cover as much land area as he could. He kept on riding and riding, whipping the horse to go as fast as possible. When he was hungry or tired, he did not stop because he wanted to cover as much area as possible.
Came to a point when he had covered a substantial area and he was exhausted and was dying. Then he asked himself, "Why did I push myself so hard to cover so much land area? Now I am dying and I only need a very small area to bury myself."
The above story is similar with the journey of our Life. We push very hard everyday to make more money, to gain power and recognition. We neglect our health , time with our family and to appreciate the surrounding beauty and the hobbies we love.
One day when we look back , we will realize that we don't really need that much , but then we cannot turn back time for what we have missed.
Life is not about making money, acquiring power or recognition.

Life is definitely

not about work!
Work is only necessary to keep us living so as to enjoy the beauty and pleasures of life.. Life is a balance of Work and Play, Family and Personal time.
You have to decide how you want to balance your Life. Define your priorities, realize what you are able to compromise but always let some of your decisions be based on your instincts. Happiness is the meaning and the purpose of Life, the whole aim of human existence. So, take it easy, do what you want to do and appreciate nature. Life is fragile , Life is short. Do not take Life for granted. Live a balanced lifestyle and enjoy Life!

Watch your thoughts ; they become words.

Watch your words ; they become actions.

Watch your actions ; they become habits..

Watch your habits; they become character .

Watch your character; it becomes your destiny

So enjoy every day as yours.........

Hello again!

Your husband may be right where God wants him right now...it may not be clear at the moment, but as time passes it may become more evident.

Yes, my wife and I have four children -- Boys 15, 7 and 6 and a 12 year-old daughter -- that alternately bless us and challenge us. And sometimes a blessing and a challenge can come simultaneously!

We'd love to get away for a full body immersion into God's word, but unfortunately my wife has to schedule her vacations months in advance and I have to plan for work stoppages of my own...but it DOES sound like fun!

We have a very good home church that we spend time with. We have weekly worship services, bible study groups that are available as well as special programs for the kids (youth group and AWANA).

This church has been a real blessing to us. Our Pastor is an exceptionally spry 75 yea-old who manages to do everything - and be a shining light for the entire congregation as we strive to get/stay in the center of God's will for our lives.

BTW...I enjoy our chats as much as you do! But right now I have a "to-do list" that's as long as my right arm. If I don't get back to it I'll be in deep trouble!

gOD bLESS!

Hi REW!
Sorry I'm just now getting back to you. One of my weaknesses is that I don't always do today what can be postponed until tomorrow. I need to mix that up a little bit!

Photography is a wonderful choice! I enjoy taking pictures even though I'm not particularly good at it. I've discovered through trial and error that God blessed me with the ability to paint pictures with words - so I paint as many as I possibly can.

It sounds as if your husband may be screaming for a change of scenery. If he has an interest in something else or has the opportunity to make use of God-given talent or ability, I think he should take advantage of it.

At one time I was locked in a position that didn't particularly suit me - I was a truck driver. I stepped into that role because it seemed like an interesting job with plenty of travel opportunities. While I was able to see the beauty that God has given us, I discovered that there's only so much beauty to be experienced through a bug-splattered windshield.

I prayed about it with my wife and not long after that I felt like God wanted me to make the change. I must have been listening because I had replaced my income within three months of making the change and it has only improved since then.

I really don't have many travel opportunities...most of my writing projects consist of writing books for real estate investors, platform speakers, and success coaches. I typically do phone interviews and then write their books that way.

It's pretty mundane work, but I've got a stable of happy clients that pay me pretty well to do work that is enjoyable. Now I'm trying to kick some projects to the curb so I can work on my fiction writing.

Whenever I can I jump at the chance to practice my craft and tell stories...until then I'm more than happy to stand in the shadows and let others take credit for what I've written...as long as their check clears!

Enjoy this video I came across...it's a funny reminder that there are any number of good ways of vividly explaining concepts so that more people can understand even the most difficult subjects...

God Bless you! Enjoy your weekend and your time at church tomorrow!

Ken

One Step At A Time

One step at a time is the best way to go
When going through life and traveling in the direction of your dreams
The best way to get ahead is the simpliest way:
Take one step at a time
Don’t look over your shoulder
If you do, you’ll feel the weight of all your yesterdays upon you
And don’t worry about what lies ahead
By the time you get to the bend in the road or the crest of the hill
You’re going to be better and stronger than you ever were before
Just go one step at a time
One day at a time
And you’ll find a rich, thankful life you never thought you could afford….

as we grow in spirit, we can say problems arised more than what we expected, but if we're going to be sensitive in God's will... problems, trails, tribulations etc...r big blessings for us... we can't hev the fruits of spirit (Gal.5:22) if we will not experienced trials en tribulations in life..
and that's what we r right now my friend...
as we recieved Christ in our lives, we really commit ourselves to Him, en in His ministries...when u hev ministry never ceased on doing what u started up...
i really become observant...that when fellow christians stopped in their ministries, en problems arise ahhh... they easily fall down...
as written in Mt.4:4 ... we must stick to His words, we must be always thirsty en hungry in soul foods...
yes, me and my family were all active in our church since we became children of God...
one time God reveals me these verse in the bible 1 Tim. 3:5....For if a man does not know how to manage his own family, how can he take care of God's church?
every monday morning we,in our home,we hev a family devotion...i am the one hu exhort, each members has participation in this ministry..
as i always saying, we feel holy when wer inside the church, doing ministry, but when we go outside the church, do we still feel holy, feel the presence of our Lord? hehehee that's what God revealed to me...
wherever we go, we must be holy... esp.in our family...where our jerusalem is started at home...
one more important thing in life... always worship Him en give thanks...(1 Thess 5:16-18)
