All About GOD - Growing Relationships with Jesus and Others

I greet you in the name of Jesus Christ on this Thanksgiving Day. As we celebrate we must not loose focus on the things that should be important in our lives and focus on the material, and the commercialization of this celebration. This is a time that we should not only concentrate on eating Turkey and have a good time. We should use this time to reflect on our lives and  what the Lord has done for us. We should use this time to evaluate our lives, and to determine what is important, we should use time to think about what we have and not worry about what we don’t have, think about those who don’t have, think about our redemption and salvation.

( Luke 2:36-38) 36And there was one Anna, a prophetess, the daughter of Phanuel, of the tribe of Aser: she was of a great age, and had lived with an husband seven years from her virginity;
37And she was a widow of about fourscore and four years, which departed not from the temple, but served God with fastings and prayers night and day.
38And she coming in that instant gave thanks likewise unto the Lord, and spake of him to all them that looked for redemption in
Jerusalem

As Ana the Prophetess gave thanks for the redemption in Jerusalem, so too must give thanks for our redemption and salvation through Jesus Christ. The fundamental idea of the word is a dual one: redemption from and redemption to. Redemption from the law: from the penalty of the law; from sin; from Satan and from all evil. Redemption is to a new freedom from sin, a new relationship to God, and new life in Jesus Christ.

We must be reminded that redemption to a new life in Jesus Christ is the basis of His sacrificial death. The new life arises out of the new principle of life imparted to us. (Romans 6:4) Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.

Redemption to Jesus Christ is redemption to His life, His nature, His Holiness. It is joining with Him in His death and raising with Him in the power of His resurrection in glory.

 (1 Peter 3:18) For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit:

God Bless you all.
