All About GOD - Growing Relationships with Jesus and Others

Winning the battle - at the dawn of a New Year or anytime.
We will just call him Joe.
Joe was the president of a huge corporation. Through an email he was not meant to receive, he found out there was a move to oust him from his company and take others out in the process. Great peril lay ahead and he knew it.
He considered his options, knowing confidentiality was key--who could he trust? He could: >call his mentor and meet her for lunch
         >call together his top guys and get their assessment
of the situation, their suggestions for a strategy-
         >just let things take their course...which would not be good-
                            Wait!
         >perhaps, there was another option: Joe was a man of
faith though he was pretty private about it. What if he
tried what his preacher had talked about? Ask God what
he thought about his situation, ask him for his help...
In real time, Joe decides to take a leap of faith:
'Hey God, it's me Joe. I'm kinda in some trouble here, as I
know you are fully aware; I know you know the players here too.
You see around corners that I cannot,
because you see the future as you do the present - all one piece.
So, what would you have me do?
I'm listening, God -  'got anything for me?'

'Yes, Joe... I respond to hearts devoted to me. Ask your people/your posse, whoever they are, to fast and pray, to get serious about invoking My help. When My people cry out, I come and answer, Joe - you know what I'm saying?'
Now, the real story. King Jehoshaphat and his people were surrounded on all sides about to be annihilated - 2 Chronicles 20.1-30.
In his prayer, he tells God 'we are powerless before this great multitude who are coming against us; we know not what to do, but our eyes are on You.'  God is moved by our humility--when we recognize and admit our own inability to save ourselves from ourselves and our situations, and realize our great need for him to act! Jehoshaphat got it.
In a response from God, 'You will not have to fight this battle. Take up your positions; stand firm and see the deliverance the Lord will give you, Judah and Jerusalem. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged. Go out to face them tomorrow, and the Lord will be with you'. [Read those last two sentences again]
God, as he is wont to do, hears Jehoshaphat, and answers in a mighty way! He orchestrates it so that Jehoshaphat's enemies come up and fight each other; Joe and his men never have to take up arms! Do you get it--Joe never had to fight in the battle that would have cost him everything?!
So, what battle are you fighting? Or maybe you are fighting for someone else!  O, I know you're determined, I know you're strong, and you love hard. And of course, you are very smart and have surrounded yourself with good people, right? But none of them are as wise and all-knowing and good as God - so why don't you stop and pray? Why don't you stop, drop to your knees and pray for God the Father to come and rescue you - to exact a victory on your behalf?

Go ahead - he is big enough.
Go ahead - he's good enough.
Go ahead - he loves you more than you can fathom.

And here's the thing, Christian - the battle is not yours;
                the battle is the Lord's.
You are not meant to fight it. Oh yeah, and if God is in the fight,
He always wins.
Invite God into your battle today - give it all over to him.
You will not be sorry.
