Who's Afraid of the Dark


As a child I remember horrid Fear of the dark.I can recall placing my little plastic army men in line on my window shelf to protect me from the monsters outside my window.I knew that with my little troopers in position that no monster would dare think of attacking me while I slept.Now of course we all know that if anything would have been there that it would have waltzed right over my little plastic protectors with little more that a sore foot if it stepped on them.But with the dawning of the next day,I was relieved and knew in my childs mind that my troopers had done their job with great success. I can remember the relief with the sunshine coming thru my window in our country home. The joy of seeing that actually there was nothing to be afraid of now because I could see all the possible things that could cause me harm.With the Light was the ability to see where I was going and not making mistakes that might cause me to fall or trip on unseen things.

Light is guidance in the night men stuble and grope in the darkness seeking to find thier way. Always uncertain of every step or the outcome of making the wrong move.So there fore we find Safety and security in the light. The Fear of the darkness is rooted in our very nature,since the primative man walked on the earth. Never knowing what dangers awaited us just out of sight in the pertruding ever threating Darkness. Would there be some Animal there waiting to pounce or maybe even worse some demon of untold horror. And what man or woman during a very complicated illness or deep depression has not felt the fear of night,always rejoicing with the coming of the rising Sun in the east. Now with the coming of the dawn we find we are in the same place as the nightbefore. Only differacne is we can see all things clearly with the light of day.

It is the same Dark and Depressed feeling that the folks who do not know GOD as thier Saviour live with every day. The same fear we have of the darkness is the same fear those who live in the darkness of Sin experience.

Psalms43:3 tells us,
"O send out thy Light and thy truth:Let them lead me:Let them bring me to thy Holy Hill and thy Talbernacle."

King David knew the importance of GOD's Light in the Darkness and its guidance to be able to live our lives in a world of Darkness.

Psalms112:4 tells us,
"Unto the pright there ariseth Light in the Darkness:He(GOD)is full of compassion and Righteousness."

Psalms 119:105 Tells us,
Thy Word is a Lamp unto my feet.And a Light unto my path."

Proverbs 4:18-19 Tells us,
"But the path of the just is as the Shining Light, that shineth more and more unto the perfect day.The way of the wicked is as Darkness:they know not at what they stumble."

When a person accepts GOD's Way, he has the light and guidance of the Master to Light his path and make his steps sure and correct. We are to be Light to the lost to help them see in this world of Darkness we live in.We need to present ourselves in such a manner that the lost will see the Light of GOD shining thru us in our daily walks.

Matthew 5:14 tells us,
Ye are the LIght of the World." Vs 16 tells us,"Let your Light so shine before men,that they may see your Good Works and GLORIFY you Father in Heaven."

Notice a very important statement here it says to "Glorify your Father in Heaven" That is the Key Word in the verse and should be in all Christians Lives , all we do should Gorlify the Father and the Son JESUS.

Luke2:30-32 tells us of Simeon a man of faith and Light seeing the Messiah Y'shua as a child says,"For my eyes have seen thy Salvation,Which they have prepared before the the face of all they people.A LIGHT to lighten the GENTILES, and they GLory of the People."

Important to notice instead of saying the Jewish People ,he (Simeon) said " a Light to the Gentiles," Now most Jews had a very passionate dislike of the Genitles and wouldnt even enter thier houses. This man of GOD was giving a prophecy of the Ministry of JESUS and his future gift of Adoption and Salvation, a gift of Light to the Gentiles who were outside of the promises of Abraham.GEntiles who were living in the Darkness of Spiritual Sin with no hope of Salvation.But soon we Gentiles were to be in the Light of GOD's Family and accepted into the promise of Abraham. Now I dont know about you but I am very Thankful that GOD made that concession was made for us.

John 1:4 Tells us,
" In him was Life and the life was the LIGHT of men." Vs 5 says 'And trhe LIght Shineth in the Darkness and the Darkness comprehended it not."

John 8:12 JESUS say's,
"I am the LIGHT of the world:he that followeth me shall not walk in Darkness,But shall have the LIGHT OF LIFE."

Jesus is our light, he lights our paths so we can walk threw this world of Darkness and Deception.And with GOD we can walk thru it with his Guidance and Direction with out stumbling or falling off the true path.Always having our paths sure and with purpose with out fear of the Darkness.

John 12:35 Jesus tells us,
"Yet a little while is the LIGHT with you,Walk while ye have the Light, Lest Darkness come upon you.For he that walks in Darkness knoweth not whither he goeth."
vs.36"While ye have the LIGHT,believe in the LIGHT,that ye may be Children of the LIGHT."

JESUS tells us to walk in his LIGHT. He(MESSIAH) is the Light of our lives and he is the only one keeping us safe from the Darkness of Sin, Despair and the Pit of HEll. What will be your decision today? What path are you going to walk down? Are you going to walk with JESUS in the LIGHT or walk the path of SATAN in Darkness? are you going to follow the path of SIN and Stumble and Grope only guessing of the outcome or result of your next step or decision? It is easy to follow the Secular World on thier path straight to the Fire of HELL. But it is just as simple to accept GOD's Free Gift of Salvation thru JESUS. And to walk in the path of LIGHT and Eternal Life having your steps guided and secured by his Love and Mercy.Knowing that by Following JESUS we will not stumble or fall in the dark again,This doesn't mean we wont make mistakes,but it does mean we can ask for his forgiveness and besure that he in his mercy will forgive us, because the LIGHT of his LOVE will illuminate our paths whe he is the Guide of our Lives. So the invitation is extended to you today, Which path will you choose? The Path of Darkness and the sure result of eternity in HEll, or the Path of LIGHT and the Promise of GOD for Eternal Life in Heaven? The Choice is yours TODAY. Make the Right Choice.
