All About GOD - Growing Relationships with Jesus and Others

Jeremiah 18:1-6
This is the Word that came to Jeremiah from the Lord. "Go down to the potter's house, and there I will give you my message". So I went down to the potter's house, and I saw him working at the wheel. But the pot he was shaping from the clay was marred in his hands, so the potter formed it into another pot, shaping it as seemed best to him. Then the Word of the Lord came to me "O house of Israel, can I not do with you as this potter does?"

The message that God gave Jeremiah and the illustration of the potter and the clay was about obedience and repentance. Up to this point God's people were walking in a state of disobedience and hardness of heart and every man doing what was right in his own eyes; but God wanted them to know that even in their state of hardness if they allowed the message from Jeremiah to soften their hearts, then God could still mold and shape them "As seemed best to Him"

Clay - a heavy sticky earth material can only be molded and shaped after it is wet and softened. We are in a time and season where our old hardened ideas, philosophies and preceptions of God---our rituals and religions of the past will no longer work.

We cannot desire intimacy with God and still hold on to the old habits, we cannot disregard the messages of repentance and still raise our hands in worship, we cannot walk in our own wilful way of disobedience doing life and usual and expect change.

As christians we are now so integrated in the world that we are camourflaged. The world cannot tell us apart and we cannot tell us apart. Whatever the world is into, we are into. 1 John 2:15 Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For everything in the world---the cravings of sinful man, the lust of his eyes and the boasting of what he has and does comes not from the Father but from the world.

John is telling us not to love the systems of the world, the world's ways of doing things---running after success, pursuing wealth, status, etc. all these things hardens our heart and pull us away from intimacy with God. Matthew 6:33 tells us to "Seek first His Kingdom and His righteousness and all these things will be given to us as well". So when we seek Kingdom purpose and Kingdom things everything we need God will give us. Pursue Intimacy and follow hard after God!!!

God wants the best for us that is why He is constantly calling us back to a place of repentance and obedience.

The world is waiting to see Jesus, the question is will they see Jesus in you.

Will you allow Him to shape and mold you, will you allow the Word of God and the message of repentance and obedience to soften you, will you present yourself to the potter, will you entrust your life into His capable hands and allow Him to shape and mold you "as seems best to Him".

The potter wants to put you back together again --- no matter how broken, no matter how ill shaped you are, if you want to look like Jesus --- the potter wants to put you back together again.

Love and blessings
