All About GOD - Growing Relationships with Jesus and Others

Reading (Mat 5:13-16)

Introduction

Can you hide a city that is sitting on top of a hill? Its light at night can be seen for miles! If we live for Christ, we will glow like lights that can be seen for miles showing others what
Christ is like. We hide our light by being quit when we should speak, going along with the crowd, letting sin dim our light, denying the light, when we ignore the needs of others. Don’t shut your light out from the rest of the world.

In Mathew 5:14 “You are the light of the world.” We are God’s touch in a world of darkness, John 8:12, Jesus said, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness but will have the light of life.” As was the woman who was caught in adultery, he ignored the sin. He told her to leave her life of sin, Jesus stands ready to forgive, waiting for you to turn and follow Him. As we begin to follow after Jesus by reading His word, “it brings light into our hearts’ praying, sharing Jesus to others we shed the light of God, by walking in purity being truthful and honest sincere in our heart. The Bible says John the Baptist came proclaiming the good news to all people, he was communicating we are the light of the world. John 3:19 speaks of men who enjoy walking in darkness denying the light in them; yet the light penetrates and dispels the darkness in their hearts, and the light convicts all unrighteousness acts, that is hidden and brings to service. (Mat 6:22-23) "The lamp of the body is the eye. If therefore your eye is good, your whole body will be full of light. {23} "But if your eye is bad, your whole body will be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in you is darkness, how great is that darkness! You walk in. Such as the moon provides light for the earth just as the sun does, the moon only reflects the light of the sun. By the same token, Jesus is the source of all light. As a child of God we become reflectors in a darkened world, transmitting through their lives the true light Jesus Christ. Another form is extinguishing a fire you can see on a hill top, brings light in the form anger and envy or jealousy, as well as hatred towards another. Will put out the fire in you and quench the Holy Spirit. By contrast, the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, generosity, faithfulness’ this is the fire that should be in our hearts to shed to all we come in contact with.

Conclusion

As we delight ourself in the Lord, all things become clean and pure in the eyes of the heart, and we are transformed into the Light of God a state of being blamelessness in all things. That comes from the Father of Light, we bring light into the world through our attitudes towards others, the bible says 1Co 15:33 not to go astray evil communication will corrupt good manners, how we conduct our self in the Lord is to be sober and of good behaviour and of self control giving into godliness letting our light shine, to those around us.
