All About GOD - Growing Relationships with Jesus and Others

I was struck when I heard by a  news article this week, can read it here: http://www.thenational.ae/news/worldwide/south-asia/indias-unwanted... , about the renaming ceremony of 200+ Indian girls who underwent a name changing ceremony to change their names which originally had meant 'unwanted'. It kinda broke my heart. Can you imagine being born and growing up believing and those around you believing you are 'unwanted'. May these 'unwanted' children everywhere know Gods love, may parents who live in countries where baby girls are so undervalued, that they are sometimes cast away like rubbish,  see that all children are gifts from God and each is valued and blessed.

Also, the story of the little Chinese toddler :http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/asia/china/8833993/Chines... who was hit by a bus and 18 people walked past and ignored until someone helped. This has sparked a national and international outpouring of love and shock, and is making people look at how we treat others. It puts me in mind of The Good Samartian.

The one person who attracted universal praise for her warmheartedness was Yueyue's rescuer, 58-year-old Chen Xianmei who was said to work as a domestic helper by day and supplement her income by collecting rubbish for recycling at night.

Yueyue's parents were photographed meeting the woman, bowing down in a ritual 'kowtow' – a public expression of gratitude that she had stopped to help their daughter when so many others had walked on by.

The woman said she had thought about the risk of malicious prosecution when she intervened to help Yueyue – the reason widely given in China why 18 others did not stop to help – adding that she responded instinctively.

She told reporters she had found Yueyue with one eye shut and the other eye open looking at her and had rushed around searching for her mother. "I didn't think I was getting into any trouble. I didn't think so much. I just wanted to help her," she said, before returning to work.

Both these recent occurances, I think, remind of the desperate need for the love of Jesus in our world and examples of when its not.

It's so true Lucy - the love of Jesus is much needed in this world. One of the hardest things for me to hear about is when children are involved in cases of neglect and abuse. I love children - they are so pure hearted, sincere and joyful. Kids are wonderful. Yet Gods love is meant for all. Appreciate your sharing.

"And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds.." Heb.10:24 NIV
