Twittering In Church. Is this the new form of notetaking?

I feel note taking in church is so important. It's no different than me sending my children to school and take notes there. It's important for growth. I have a book that is called "Call To Worship Note Takers' Book. It allows me to write and store all my Church notes and Bible Study notes in one book for a whole year. I do this so I can go back and read what was said and also study. A book that is dedicated to church. A lot of people do the same think with this book.

When I look over I see another person twittering in church. It seemed a little strange and distracting, but I wanted to ask and see what others thought. Does twittering in Church during a sermon have a place?

Well this word tweeting is a new word for me also, But I agree with most of the comments that are given here , no tweeting in church, keep youe on the pastor, who is listening to the Holy Spirit, and if you miss that then you have missed it all, tweet at home, so it was said, so let it be written

I dont tweet during service, mainly because I'm not enough of a technophile to know how to do it on my phone. Our interium paster used to tweet during the song service. If it is used as a means to communicate the wonder and glory of God, to give Him praise, and to let the world know that we actually ENJOY going to church, I dont have any problem with it.

this electronics have very diverse applications such that you may genuinely want to take notes but find your self taken away by other thing hence missing the primary intention of taking notes. i prefer if its taking notes we go for the primitive way. but if you find taking notes technologically easy and fun then.... this is my opinion,

Maybe I'm old fashioned but, I believe twittering has no place in church service. You should have undivided attention on what is going on in service. Forget about yourself and concentrate on Him and worship Him. Taking notes and twittering are two different things. I see nothing wrong with taking notes of what is being said during service for later review and reflection. Twittering online and communicating what you're doing, and what you're seeing etc... for the online community to see is a distraction. Twit after service.

This to me is very interesting how can one take notes and listen to what is being spoken?
Maybe some people are capable however not this bloke, I am more interested in what is being said than taking my attention off the speaker and I do not believe in note taking and or twittering.
Mobile phones a marvellous invention but certainly not in Church

I think the whole idea of Twittering is silly. I tried it for about a week. Who wants to write a message about every little thing they do. It's a very egocentric form of communication.

I am not in to tweeting on twitter so I don't have a yeah or nay. But I think it would be distracting to me to see someone tweeting on their phone. Maybe their phone has a notepad and they are just keeping notes to transcribe later. Maybe they should just put their phone on record and capture the entire service.
