All About GOD - Growing Relationships with Jesus and Others

Truth trumps politics. Time to be courageous!

Listen along here:  https://www.pastorwoman.net/podcast/episode/24fd202c/truth-trumps-p...

This was not about politics.

This was not about religion.

This was about truth.

Does truth matter? Jesus sure thought it did.

Before we go any further, we must define our terms.

What is truth? We must get this one right.

Bear in mind this real conversation I had with a guy at my gym about a year ago, not. long before the US presidential election. I knew Michael by name, but had just exchanged pleasantries before this particular morning.

As I approached the sit-up bench, I saw him, and I could not say hello without addressing his shirt too. In dark blue, it had a large picture of the democratic candidate with "Kamala is my president."

'Hey Michael, why is she your president?' I asked.

'Because she tells the truth,' he matter of factly replied.

'Hmmm, what do you mean by that--what is your definition of truth?' I asked.

'Truth is what I believe it is,' he said.

'Wait,' I smiled, pausing, 'Michael, you are not saying that you have 'your truth' and I have 'my truth', are you?'

'That's exactly what I'm saying,' he said. the conversation continued from there.

Friends, there is no 'your truth' and 'my truth'.

There is only 'THE truth'.

That which conforms to the facts.

Charlie Kirk was gunned down yesterday because he spoke the truth - about God, about marriage, about the hope and future of America, and he rallied young people to get involved. While he would debate any college student with his 'Prove me wrong' mantra, he did so with respect, intelligence and always a smile. He was unapologetic about his faith in Jesus Christ.

Truth? Yeah, I guess he took Jesus at his Word when Jesus said these uncompromising words: I am the Way, I am the Truth, and I am the Life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.Jesus did not say that of himself because he was proud or arrogant, because he wanted to tell someone else they were wrong or shut them down, he said it because it was TRUE. And to say anything different would be neither right nor loving--relationship with him was and is the way to true love and real life.

And further, Jesus said that when you know the truth, the truth will set you free.2 Freedom . . . ah, what a concept, what a gift--one it seems we do not highly esteem. And here's the thing: Truth is no respecter of persons, and does not take into account one's feelings about it. Truth simply represents reality.

Clearly, truth has been under attack, and it is our young who most readily fall victim to the relativistic thinking that has flooded channels of influence, wreaking disastrous consequences.

There is no arena that is more rife with the outright evil lies of the enemy than the transgender movement, where pre-pubescent youngsters going through an awkward time in their body are fed the lie that perhaps they were born the wrong gender--but all that can be changed. Ideas have consequences, and bad ideas often have victims.

Like this young girl-

Chloe Cole grew up in central California. Like so many young people today, Chloe struggled with her identity. And like so many young people today, she sought comfort and companionship online.

But what she found there were harmful ideas about who she is.

"I had heard the word transgender a few times, but I thought it was just kind of a funny concept, and I didn't really care for it until I was actually seeing it just being presented to my face through my usage of social media.

A lot of these users were kids my age or maybe a little bit older who identified with the opposite sex or another part of the LGBT community. But it was primarily like these these girls who called themselves males.

Maybe the reason why I'm so interested in this is because I'm one of them. I wasn't supposed to be a girl. That's why I'm so uncomfortable with myself and my developing female body. I was born with a male brain.

Maybe half a year or so of being exposed to this content, was when I decided to go all in and to transition.

And they really drilled it hard into my mom and dad's head that like, you're going to have

having a live son or a dead daughter. And it's the only choice that they give parents. They say it's transiton or die."

Chloe started her transition when she was just 12 years old. First with puberty suppressants and then cross-sex hormones at 13. And at just 15 years old, Chloe underwent a double mastectomy. "I didn't have the clarity or maturity yet, to be able to realize that my transition was actually destroying me. I was still very much in the mindset of, okay maybe I just need to move further then, because I'm not satisfied.

I started to wonder, like, what's wrong with me this time? You know, like I look like a guy, everybody thinks I'm a guy, everybody accepts me, and yet I'm still not happy." All of this because of a lie - we cannot change our sex.

Chloe tells her story - one of several - on a brand new documentary released this past Friday, which could not be any more relevant, any more pertinent to living with clarity and courage:

Truth Risinghttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XXc5IhgSZkg

With beautiful footage from all over the world--from the U.K. to Switzerland and Rome, Somalia to the Netherlands to farm country outside Washington, D.C., fascinating courageous people, and a very compelling narrative, just an hour and a half long. Free.

Will you watch it, let me know what you think? Want to take action? Let's talk. Ask God to give you the courage and opportunities to speak of him to others, encouraging them to seek out the Truth that will bring meaning and purpose to their lives.

Charlie Kirk's murder did not catch God off guard, nor did it alter who God is; rather it raised the banner that Jesus Christ is the answer to the longing deep in the human heart.

"O God, Augustine was right - 'You have made us for yourself O Lord & our heart is restless until it rests in you.'3 Lord, may we deepen our resolve to know your truth and speak it out. May we, like the apostle Paul say, I am not ashamed of the gospel of Jesus Christ because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes!4 And God, will you take this heinous act, what the devil meant for evil and turn it for good--indeed, the saving of many lives!5 Would you cause revival to break out, stirring up our college campuses to find the truth, the only truth, Jesus Christ? In the mighty name of Jesus, Amen.

Today is 9-11. There is no accident--the juxtaposition of Charlie's murder and our. nation's saddest hour. Christian, rise up. The answer for our world is God, and God alone.

The Bible has never been more vital,

nor the words of God more apt.

Let's roll, Christian.
