Trust, Love, and Walls
To truly love you have to give up control and risk getting hurt. This is a scary thing; however, those who won’t take the risk will not get to truly know what love is or how great it feels. To truly love God, you have to give up yourself. You give up control of your life, and you place it in God’s hands. Then and only then will you begin to receive all the love God has for you.
Lack of trust is a wall between you and God. That wall must be broken down before true relationship can begin. You can not have love without a relationship. You cannot have a relationship without trust. You cannot have trust while having walls built up around you. You think those walls keep you safe, but all they do is keep you separated from God’s love.
To start having a closer relationship with God, first ask Him to break down your walls. You cannot do this on your own. Yes, it is scary, but the love you will receive once those walls are gone is immeasurable. God loves you and wants a relationship with you, but as long as he is pushed away that will not happen. We have to come to him willingly. He will not force himself on us. We have to want him, and once you decide that you want that relationship with him, and you ask for HIM TO BREAK DOWN THOSE WALLS, then the floodgates will open and all his love, understanding, and wisdom will be poured out on you.
How much easier is a life with the Lord than one without? Ask the Lord to tear down those walls and you will know how much better life can be with true peace and contentment.
