Time and time again . . .

Beloved,

From the beginning of this week, I had been encouraging a brother who recently went to jail (and waiting for his sentence) for not surrendering an iPhone to the police. Something he ought to do, but kept it in possession until they found him.

I believed it's one of the "tracking" feature of iPhone. If you know, the laws in S'pore are extremely strict, and this is unfortunate for him, but I realized that God has a plan for this brother- a pre-believer, who insisted in gambling to "make a living." Perhaps a professional you may call him. Always boasting to me how often and how much he won in the casino (new Resort World) here in our island- Sentosa.

Now, inside the jail cell with other notorious gangsters, waiting to hear from the court of law and feeling anxious, he actually found time to sms me and to reply my smses. And it seems to me he is encouraged by my word of prayer and comfort. I told him repeatedly I will NOT give-up on him and urged him to not give-up his hope on God.

Many times, he is always fighting me when I try to minister to him. I know it's God's timing, not mine. I've learnt to wait on the ONE who is the BEGINNING AND THE LAST. When we are vulnerable, totally on our own in this "wilderness" of life, one will realize the need for a God to fill the "God-shaped vacuum" and only He can fill! But when God forbids something it is not because He wants to limit us or narrow our lives. It is because He is protecting us from something that we cannot handle, something so devastating it will ruin us. He demonstrated from the Word how SIN destroys human beings and turns them into something God never intended them to be. Eventually those embracing a SINFUL lifestyle would be locked into pain, hurt, misery, loneliness, and death.

I pray that this will be an ANCHOR moment for him to come to his senses through the indwelling works of the Holy Spirit and for him to come to Christ, our Lord and Saviour!

Please remember this brother- NORMAN TEO in prayer as he awaits grace in the midst of judgement .

Comment by Peter TAN on August 18, 2010 at 10:41pm: Beloved, Is someone (an acquaintance, a stranger you met on the road, a friend, a neighbour, a colleague, a schoolmate perhaps) IN NEED, SUFFERING, LONELY, in MISERY & HURTING? The most basic act of LOVE (a kind SAMARITAN) is demonstrated when you pray for that person and remember that someone continuously (becoming an intercessor), asking and committing this person to God, believing and determined to see God's hand in his/her life. And perhaps, you might just be that someone special God brings to his/her life?! Always be ready- that's the ATTITUDE. For it determines our ALTITUDE in God, and you'll never know when . . . To God be the glory! ;-)
