The Prize

Caught in this battle between love and hate,
so intense at times I questioned my fate.

One wave of evil beset me all around,
then swarmed by a passion so dear and profound.

What was it they wanted that kept me in the middle,
the struggle it caused understanding so little.

What did I have or what had I done,
what would be gained when the battle was won.

The battle waged on as my soul cried out,
what did they want I begged to find out.

Bewildered and downcast I resorted to settle this dispute,
by taking my own life and end their pursuit.

Out of nowhere a being the likes I'd never seen,
appeared to me unfolding what all this did mean.

The prize of this battle for which is it's goal,
fought tooth and nail for my dear is your soul.
