All About GOD

All About GOD - Growing Relationships with Jesus and Others

As we turn our wet strained faces to the heavens, we call on God in a way that we haven't experienced in a long time. In this prayer, we tell God our troubles, tell Him everything that's going wrong. We ask Him "Why don't You just fix this?" or "I'm trying God, please hear me!"

We ask for God in prayer, and when we get off our knees we quickly walk away as if there was never a conversation with God. We go on in life, thinking about our problems.

One day a teenage girl was praying. Her boyfriend had been beating her severely and her family seemed to hate her. She was flunking every class in her school, and she was debating whether or not to quit school. This young girl was walking in the woods, and a slight breeze brushed against her cheek. Suddenly, she felt something different. Tears ran down her cheeks in a way that she had never experienced. She fell to her knees, the tears falling to the dirt of the earth.

She cried out, "Where are You, God? Where?"

All was quiet. The tears suddenly stopped. The rustling of the trees wasn't even heard. Everything seemed to be still.

She heard a voice, "The question is, My child, where are you? I've been here all along. Don't you see?"

The young girl fell in to the arms of God, a feeling of comfort that she had been looking for her whole life; she had been missing this. This was a part of her heart that was not there, but now it existed. This young girl had been looking for love, she would do anything just to hear someone say that they loved her.

As the young girl sat in the arms of God, she heard three words that changed her life forever.

"I love you."
