"Spam Filter ON"

What is SPAM?  Here is the definition of spam from the online dictionary: Disruptive messages, especially commercial messages posted on a computer network or sent as e-mail.

Now of course this message is not about electronic spam, it’s actually about “Spiritual Spam”.  The Lord started speaking to me about this spiritual spam.  Having the understanding of what electronic spam is will help me explain and you to understand about this spiritual spam that the Lord has been speaking to me about.

What is Spiritual Spam?
He is showing me that just as unwanted electronic e-mail spam is received by us, so is negative spiritual mental spam received by us.  They are also disruptive messages that are sent to us by evil outlets.

Why is it sent to us?
The main point of spiritual spam is to steal, kill and destroy; it is a direct attack to keep us mentally in a place where the “Blessing of the Lord” cannot fully manifest in our lives.   Worry, lack, fear, lust, perversion, sensuality are just some examples, and they come packaged in many different harmless looking thoughts.

The Good News
Once we are made aware of these spiritual spam messages, then we can choose to not accept, entertain, or interact with them any longer.  Remembering to take every thought captive, to obey Christ.
Here are some simple steps to reject that unwanted spiritual spam.

Receive the gift of salvation, start that lifelong relationship with Jesus Christ if you haven’t yet start now.  Now is the time.  Receive the Holy Spirit.  Romans 10:10 for with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation

Read the Holy Scriptures and receive the renewing of your mind. Rom 12:2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect.

Fellowship with those who are walking closely with the Lord, those who will lead you deeper into fellowship with the Lord.  Prov 13:20 He who walks with wise men will be wise, But the companion of fools will suffer harm.         1 Cor 15:33 Be not deceived, evil discourse corrupts pleasant minds.

Think on things holy.  Keep your thoughts and eyes on things pleasing to the Lord?  Phil 4:8  Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things

Remembering that the lust’s of our own heart will empower these messages if we allow them.  Just like you wouldn't click on a link or receive an offer sent to you through electronic email spam, don’t accept, entertain, or interact with the messages (thoughts) of spiritual spam.  James 1:14 But each one is tempted when he is carried away and enticed by his own lust.

Ask the Lord to deal with anything in your heart or mind that attracts to the evil spiritual spam  that wants to keep you in the place of lack, death, poverty, unfruitful thinking,  any form  of evil.  God wants the best for you and in His word He shows us how to stay in the place to believe and receive all of the best that He has for us, and it starts with what we allow our minds to think and act on.   1Th 4:7 For God has not called us for the purpose of impurity, but in sanctification.    Rom 6:19 I am speaking in human terms because of the weakness of your flesh. For just as you presented your members as slaves to impurity and to lawlessness, resulting in further lawlessness, so now present your members as slaves to righteousness, resulting in sanctification.

So stay free in Christ in your mind and keep that spiritual “Spam Filter On”.

Blessings,
Adam Larson
