Soul Food: Having the scariest challenge in life: How do we call our GOD?
Not everyone who says to Me, "Lord, Lord," shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven.
Many will say to Me in that day, "Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?"
And then I will declare to them, "I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness."—Mt.7:21-23
June 11, 2009.. Thursday…Elmo and I watched television that night … here in Philippines there is one TV program named The Phil. Scariest Challenge; it’s a game show…
God is always revealing something to us.. We must be very sensitive also … while watching this program… there comes something in my mind… but first let me tell you about the program we watched ok..
The contestants are 3 Filipina named Rea, Miriam and Joanne… their scariest challenge is entering a hunted house, looking for clues and doing all the instructions written on the clues they will found…each one will be given time accomplishing the challenge. Bringing only flash light, a 2 way radio( to be used as contact to the host if ever they need help)and a helmet with installed cam.
The challenge started by telling the story of old family living in that hunted house who joined a cult and kill the members of the family and telling the challengers that the spirit of this people were still living in that said hunted house!
These 3 contestants has different characteristics and attitudes in taking their scariest challenge…
Rea, the 1st who took the challenge entering the dark house was very confident.. Miriam, the 2nd one is also confident taking the challenge while Joanne the 3rd, from the first up to the last challenges never cease crying for she’s afraid in the dark!
What is revealing here… is the way these three challengers called GOD!
Rea, upon entering the house up to the end, she was talking to God, praying for His protection and guidance. Miriam, as she enter the house also pray to God and then call the spirits in the house as sign of giving respect to the dead ones… Joanne, as I said from the very start … crying and shouting so loud… always saying she wants to quit but still continuing the challenges hehehheehe!!! And every time fear attack her, she called God, but at the same time saying “bad words”!!!
When seeing this: it is very clear that people called God in times of their scariest challenge in life .. yes all people are calling, praying to God! But there’s very different people’s attitude and behavior in their relationship to God!
One has a true relationship with God, the other one has a compromising relationship with God, and the next one, knows God but do she has a genuine relationship with God?
Now, its time to reflect…
