All About GOD - Growing Relationships with Jesus and Others

While I was reading this particular Psalm I kept getting this vision of that old cartoon (of all things) the Roadrunner(Beep, beep)! Man, that nasty coyote just could not seem to get his paws on that Roadrunner no matter how many times he tried. Reminds me of how the devil just never gives up either and how our Almighty God will ALWAYS come through for us. Each time we are being chased down or facing satans ugly ways of seeking to devour us, the Lord will deliver us and our faith builds and builds. Makes me wonder about how HUGE satans pride must be to keep on the way he does but I guess that’s how he got himself in trouble in the first place. It’s also a very big way we humans can get ourselves in big trouble. It is very hard for us sometimes to keep walking in the Spirit in the midst of attack but its certainly not impossible and God will keep showing us and growing us in order for us to keep all of the fruit of the Spirit intact and come out in victory in the end.Personally,I have even been attacked by the devils lies even directly after God helping me through to victory. I am so very weak without God but we are all empowered through Him. We are not infallible, no not one of us, but God is always there to pick us up and wipe the dust from us and will still bring us to victory. We are safe in God’s enduring mercy and love for us; so watch out “coyote.” ALL GLORY BELONGS TO GOD! PRAISE BE TO OUR HEAVENLY FATHER! AMEN!

1st Peter 5:8-11
Be of sober spirit, be on the alert. Your adversary, the devil, prowls about like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour. 9 But resist him, firm in your faith, knowing that the same experiences of suffering are being accomplished by your brethren who are in the world. 10 And after you have suffered for a little while, the God of all grace, who called you to His eternal glory in Christ, will Himself perfect, confirm, strengthen and establish you. 11 To Him be dominion forever and ever. Amen

Psalm 118 (King James Version)

1O give thanks unto the LORD; for he is good: because his mercy endureth for ever.
2Let Israel now say, that his mercy endureth for ever.
3Let the house of Aaron now say, that his mercy endureth for ever.
4Let them now that fear the LORD say, that his mercy endureth for ever.
5I called upon the LORD in distress: the LORD answered me, and set me in a large place.
6The LORD is on my side; I will not fear: what can man do unto me?
7The LORD taketh my part with them that help me: therefore shall I see my desire upon them that hate me.
8It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in man.
9It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in princes.
10All nations compassed me about: but in the name of the LORD will I destroy them.
11They compassed me about; yea, they compassed me about: but in the name of the LORD I will destroy them.
12They compassed me about like bees: they are quenched as the fire of thorns: for in the name of the LORD I will destroy them.
13Thou hast thrust sore at me that I might fall: but the LORD helped me.
14The LORD is my strength and song, and is become my salvation.
15The voice of rejoicing and salvation is in the tabernacles of the righteous: the right hand of the LORD doeth valiantly.
16The right hand of the LORD is exalted: the right hand of the LORD doeth valiantly.
17I shall not die, but live, and declare the works of the LORD.
18The LORD hath chastened me sore: but he hath not given me over unto death.
19Open to me the gates of righteousness: I will go into them, and I will praise the LORD:
20This gate of the LORD, into which the righteous shall enter.
21I will praise thee: for thou hast heard me, and art become my salvation.
22The stone which the builders refused is become the head stone of the corner.
23This is the LORD's doing; it is marvellous in our eyes.
24This is the day which the LORD hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.
25Save now, I beseech thee, O LORD: O LORD, I beseech thee, send now prosperity.
26Blessed be he that cometh in the name of the LORD: we have blessed you out of the house of the LORD.
27God is the LORD, which hath shewed us light: bind the sacrifice with cords, even unto the horns of the altar.
28Thou art my God, and I will praise thee: thou art my God, I will exalt thee.
29O give thanks unto the LORD; for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever

Superb Nancy - God is with the Roadrunner (1Cor 9:24) ... beep,beep!
Comment by a servant (Chris) on September 17, 2011 at 8:28pm

Nancy

The 1st Pet reminded me of what I learned once, the louder the roar the weaker the lion.  When the male lion has to find food for himself, he is either starting out or at the end of his days.  He will not have any females to bring him dinner.  So when he roars he needs to create fear, in the mind of his possible dinner, fear to slow it down enough for him to maybe bring it down.  I know the Holy Spirit was telling us something through Peter in that passage.  Thanks again as always
