All About GOD

All About GOD - Growing Relationships with Jesus and Others

We want as well as need to know the Will of God. It is His Will that is perfect not our own.
Rom 12:2 tells how to know what His Will for us is. The NIV says :
Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is--his good, pleasing and perfect will.
Then the God’s Word Trans. puts it the best I think,
Rom 12:2
Don't become like the people of this world. Instead, change the way you think. Then you will always be able to determine what God really wants-what is good, pleasing, and perfect.
We need to renew our minds or change the way we think. One of the definitions of renew
is, to bring back to original condition: to begin or take up again, is another. So to find out what the Will of God is for us , we must no longer think the way we thought, before we were saved. Or as those in the world thinks. We must renew or change our thought patterns.
By prayer, studying the Word, and allowing the Holy Spirit’s influence upon our hearts and minds, we will think in a different fashion and, be able to determine what God really wants, His Will in other words. It can be so hard to understand what God wants from us, when we continue to think the way we did before Jesus. So we are told if we change how we think, as we yield to the influence of Holy Ghost, we will be able to know what is and what is not God’s Will for us.

We were doing a bible study called Experiencing God by henry blackaby. I had already been keeping my eyes, ears and heart open every minute of every day for God's will ,one day at a time soi I was surprised when I started taking the study that I was already doing what the study was telling us. I believe the Holy Spirit literally takes our hand and some things we just do and learn through the Spirit without having to learn it anywhere else even when we are not even realizing it. God is amazing. All glory to our Father! :)

Great post Chris - it really helped that you specifically defined renew, a really important point in this passage. Thanks for sharing (*_*)

In Him,
