All About GOD - Growing Relationships with Jesus and Others

Psalm 64 (King James Version)

Have you ever met anybody who makes a game out of being cunning? Looks for mistakes or errors, finds fault and then sneaks in for the kill? Being Christians we face it pretty much every day, as we all have throughout the ages. David was continuously being attacked by his enemies. Sometimes out of jealousy, sometimes hatred, sometimes just out of a play for power. This still happens to us all, at one time or another today. Do we get angry? Do we retaliate? Do we let our tongues get the better of us in those situations? I know that I REALLY have to hang tight to our Heavenly Father during those times and when I pray for that person and that God touches their heart or stops them from doing anymore harm, I pray for myself as well that God will help me to guard my tongue and to not fear.

Do you trust God to lay it all down with Him? He wants us to trust Him that much! As the last verse of this Psalm says;

10 The righteous shall be glad in the Lord, and shall trust Him; and all the upright in heart shall glory!

So the next time this happens to you, remember who it is who really seeks to kill and destroy you. God has handled the enemy for a very long time, allow Him to do this for you again! PRAISE YOU HEAVENLY FATHER!!

Psalm 64

1Hear my voice, O God, in my prayer: preserve my life from fear of the enemy.

2Hide me from the secret counsel of the wicked; from the insurrection of the workers of iniquity:

3Who whet their tongue like a sword, and bend their bows to shoot their arrows, even bitter words:

4That they may shoot in secret at the perfect: suddenly do they shoot at him, and fear not.

5They encourage themselves in an evil matter: they commune of laying snares privily; they say, Who shall see them?

6They search out iniquities; they accomplish a diligent search: both the inward thought of every one of them, and the heart, is deep.

7But God shall shoot at them with an arrow; suddenly shall they be wounded.

8So they shall make their own tongue to fall upon themselves: all that see them shall flee away.

9And all men shall fear, and shall declare the work of God; for they shall wisely consider of his doing.

10The righteous shall be glad in the LORD, and shall trust in him; and all the upright in heart shall glory
