All About GOD - Growing Relationships with Jesus and Others

Hebrews 12
1THEREFORE THEN, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses [who have borne testimony to the Truth], let us strip off and throw aside every encumbrance (unnecessary weight) and that sin which so readily (deftly and cleverly) clings to and entangles us, and let us run with patient endurance and steady and active persistence the appointed course of the race that is set before us

, Patience is a virtue that we are first loosing in today’s society.
How a society that exists on instant tea instant showers pre can packaged chapattis and instant cameras teach patience to the next generation?
Even in the church we want our blessing and we want it now. Instant miracles, instant deliverance.
Patience no longer exists in our vocabulary
Your patience will achieve more than your force. In the battle between the stream and the water, the stream always wins not through strength but through patience and perseverance.
Patience and perseverance have a magical effect before which difficulties and obstacles vanish.
Romans 12:12
Rejoice in hope, be patient in affliction, be persistent in prayer.

We can never learn to be patient and brave if all we experience in life is joy, joy, and joy.
Patience servers as a protection against wrongs as clothes do against colds. If you put on more clothes as the cold increases it will have no power to hurt you.
In the same manner, you have to grow in patience when you meet with great wrongs and they will be powerless to vex your mind.
You must have a lot of patience to learn patience
Abraham and Sarah waited patiently for Gods promise
Joseph patiently waited for his dreams to become a reality
Job confident that he had not sinned waited patiently for Gods intervention

Have patience with all things, but more so have patience with yourself. Do not loose courage in considering your own limitations, but seek to work towards correcting them daily.
Hebrews 12
1THEREFORE THEN, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses [who have borne testimony to the Truth], let us strip off and throw aside every encumbrance (unnecessary weight) and that sin which so readily (deftly and cleverly) clings to and entangles us, and let us run with patient endurance and steady and active persistence the appointed course of the race that is set before us,

We commonly associate patience with sitting down, yet according to this scripture there is a scripture that is harder. The patience of running, the kind that marathon runners have.
To lie down in the time of grief implies a great strength, but a greater strength is to work under stress, to have a great weight on you heart and still run. To have a deep anguish in your soul and still perform daily duties. It’s a Christ like thing. To wait is hard; to wait without complaining is harder.
PRACTICAL APPLICATION

Do not react to people and situations today.
Practise patience and respond in faith today.
Give people the benefit of doubt today just like God has given you another chance today.
