Open Up Your Christmas Gift and Enjoy It

Christmas is God coming to be with us as one of us  as both man and God.

Christmas is God saying to us: “There is a way out and I know the way. I sent Jesus down to show you that way out. Follow him from Bethlehem to Galilee. Follow him from the Jordan River to Jerusalem. Follow him all the way to the cross. But don’t stop there, because he is not stopping there. Follow him all the way to my eternal presence because that is where you belong.”

In Christ’s birth in Bethlehem, God has jumped down into the hole of humanity to show us the way of life. That’s why I can say with confidence that God loves your flesh; that God loves your humanity. God doesn’t just love you; God loves you right where you are and just the way you are.  We have a God who longs to have his love as incarnated in his son Christ dwell in our hearts and reach out through our lives.  That’s your Christmas gift from God. Open it up and enjoy it.
