All About GOD - Growing Relationships with Jesus and Others

Eph 1:6-8 6 So we praise God for the glorious grace He has poured out on us who belong to His dear Son. 7 He is so rich in kindness and grace that He purchased our freedom with the blood of His Son and forgave our sins.8 He has showered his kindness on us, along with all wisdom and understanding. Eph 1:13-14 13 And now you Gentiles have also heard the truth, the Good News that God saves you. And when you believed in Christ, He identified you as His own by giving you the Holy Spirit, whom He promised long ago. 14The Spirit is God’s guarantee that He will give us the inheritance He promised and that he has purchased us to be His own people. He did this so we would praise and glorify Him. Eph 1:16b-20 ...I pray for you constantly, 17 asking God, the glorious Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, to give you spiritual wisdom and insight so that you might grow in your knowledge of God. 18 I pray that your hearts will be flooded with light so that you can understand the confident hope He has given to those He called—His holy people who are His rich and glorious inheritance. 19 I also pray that you will understand the incredible greatness of God’s power for us who believe Him. This is the same mighty power 20 that raised Christ from the dead and seated Him in the place of honor at God’s right hand in the heavenly realms.
In these verses hold a Truth we must Pray as Paul shows us in verse 17-20. Eph 1:1-15 tell us what we have, from 17-20 Paul is Praying that we understand what we have. 21-23 again tell us what we have in Christ and the Power that is Christ Jesus. This chapter is very powerful and we must receive the understanding of it all. Many people lose hope because they fail to hold on to these Truths. It is one thing to have Power, it is something else to know you have Power and what it all means. We have been given so very much, yet most never seek out what they have, and how to use what they have. To not read this Word, to not Pray and seek out this Power, that is in our hands. “ ...I pray for you constantly, 17 I pray that your hearts will be flooded with light so that you can understand the confident hope He has given to those He called—His holy people who are His rich and glorious inheritance.” This clearly shows us what we must do. Paul explains to us what we have, at the same time he shows us what we need to do. Some may ask, why do we need to do this? Just because you know how to drive does not mean you will not read the manual of a car that is new to you. There is so much more to all of this then, us not going to hell. We have a Strength that we need to use. A “birthright” if you will, that we have so,”..you can understand the confident hope He has given to those He called” because we are,”His holy people who are His rich and glorious inheritance.” So armed with this knowledge we are able to stand with much more confidence. Knowing who you are makes all the difference. “ 18 I pray that your hearts will be flooded with light so that you can understand the confident hope He has given to those He called—His holy people who are His rich and glorious inheritance. 19 I also pray that you will understand the incredible greatness of God’s power for us who believe Him...” All too often we lose hope and feel weak, as we fail again and again. As we learn of the Power behind us and for us. “...This is the same mighty power 20 that raised Christ from the dead and seated Him in the place of honor at God’s right hand in the heavenly realms.” There is no Power greater than this. We do have a responsibility to learn what we have as Children of God. We must learn of the Power and how then to use what we have been given. Paul’s Prayer of Faith still holds true for us now. We can still claim all of the benefits, we must claim them. We are not able to do this on our own. We must seek out all the information that is in the Word. We must spend time in Prayer. All too often we do not do, the very things that will make the difference in success and failure. Let there be no condemnation, just that we begin to do what we must.
