All About GOD

All About GOD - Growing Relationships with Jesus and Others

This is the first time i blog. Mostly because I have never been mad enough at something or somebody that would make me go to the effort of starting a blog.....

I have to first say that i am a cradle Episcopalian. My best friend attended Seminary a few years back and was recently surprised to hear how things had changed at their seminary. Mostly thing have turned bad. They are apparently not doing well and most of the problems are due to bad decisions being made at the top. They are making some terrible choices, rules and policies that are having bad consequences.

I can't believe that God allows such terrible things to happen to good people, especially those who have decided to live their lives teaching others about God and Jesus. I recently learned that some very good faculty members were removed by the dean of the seminary in Texas not because they were bad faculty and had done something wrong, but because the dean and others had some personal issues with them. They made up some trumped up charges against one of the faculty members and then lied and said that they did not have any money to pay the other faculty member even though the faculty member was being paid from an endowed chair. They fired the VP of Development when he dared to confront the Dean about the dismissal. Rumors are that the seminary is run like a dictatorship and that many of the board members are in the dark as to what is really happening there.

I used to think that seminary was a place where you would go to learn how to be a good christian and walk in the path of Jesus, living our lives like him. I have come to the conclusion that it is more like any other business and that all they are interested in is how many students can they bring in to make payroll...

Just found out from my friend that two more people left the seminary. the person in charge of Annual giving and alumni relations and the head of accounting. There are some serious problems at that seminary. She is hearing from former students that the are having financial problems, hiring issues, and that there is a lot of lying and missinformation going out. this hurts me to see this happening...

I'm torn between not saying anything or calling up some people and telling them that they are destroying people and will eventually destroy a beautiful place. What should I do??? I know that i will probably get some people in a lot of trouble if I say things but not saying something will probably also result in a lot of people losing their jobs....I need some advice here....

Thank you for the kind words. I am hopeful that things will change and that God will not allow such terrible things to continue. I pray that the truth will come out and these people will be exposed for who they are and for what they are doing to real Christians. . Satan cannot be allowed to take over our churches and seminaries. We need to expose those who would try to do us harm and steer us away from him.
