All About GOD

All About GOD - Growing Relationships with Jesus and Others

I came across this blog that I wrote back in April of 2008.  Time sure flies, my son is now 14 years old, 5'10".  I love these memories.  :-)   Be Blessed!

Tonight as i was putting my 4 year old to bed..we were reading his bedtime story, I had a 'thought'.
The story is called 'Sweet Dreams'......a tale from Winnie The Pooh.
Here is the beginning of the story.....

"Winnie the Pooh was looking at the most beautiful thing in the whole world. It was more beautiful than the trees or the clouds or a sunset over the pond.
He was looking into a pot full of honey.
Pooh gazed at it, smiling. He imagined all the wonderful times he and the honey were going to have. Then suddenly, his smile faded. What if it weren't really honey? It looked like honey. It felt like honey. It sloshed in the pot like honey. But what if it were something very different? Pooh knew there was one way to find out. Someone would have to taste it --- and so he did. When Pooh looked up a bit later, Piglet was standing there. "Hello, Piglet," said Pooh. "I'm happy to say that this pot is full of real honey." Piglet looked into the pot. "Pooh, this pot is empty," he said. And so it was. Pooh knew there was just one thing to do. He would have to fill it up again ---- and that meant climbing the honey tree......."

The thing that struck me was that when we are walking closely with Jesus..it is the most beautiful thing in the world---more beautiful than anything... then suddenly, something may happen, perhaps it is a negative circumstance, or a worry, or another person comes along who doesn't understand our Joyful peaceful rebirth.  Somehow our freedom in Christ and joy begins to slip away from us.....and doubt will begin to set in. We must always remember to fill our own honey pots with the sweetest tasting honey....Christ Jesus... Our honey tree happens to be God's Word! Let us fill our honey pots before we are down to the very last drop, and continually abide in Him so that we will be constantly filled.....

Proverbs 24:13-14
My child, eat honey, for it is good,
and the honeycomb is sweet to the taste.
In the same way, wisdom is sweet to your soul.
If you find it, you will have a bright future,
and your hopes will not be cut short.

(I was praying for a point in scripture that would go along with my blog....well, after i spoke to God to request something that would be suitable, I opened my bible to this very page. God is so Awesome, He delights in even the smallest details of our lives)
