LET THERE BE LIGHT Gen 1:1-5.

The increase in electricity tariff has made most of us more careful with electricity usage. People now use electricity considering cost and necessity. The bathroom
light is turned on when the bathroom is in use and turned off when it’s not in
use. This applies to the use of air conditioners and other home appliances. We
try to minimize usage in order to maximize available power. It shows how
expensive electricity is, but no matter how poor any one is, he/she strive to
pay the price because light is an important part of life.

Darkness is very strange, fearful and unacceptable. It makes life uncomfortable. A little light is better than a tiny darkness but if you don’t pay the price, you
cannot have it. Even when there is an outage in the main supply of electricity,
we continue to pay a price to have light. Some have generators, some lamps and
all buy petrol or kerosine at a price. In Genesis 1:3, God said let there be
light and there was light. Imagine walking into your bedroom in darkness. Are
you there? You know exactly where the light switch is right? If you go for it,
you can say let there be light and the room will turn from darkness to light. Once
the light comes on, you will experience a difference around you. Wonderful! Now
imagine life without light. It comes with a strange feeling right? You are not
alone on this. We all need light and we pay the price for it.

When God created man in His own image and likeness, He gave man the power to make the same statement He made in Genesis 1:3 and get the same result. Just like
turning on the light switch in your bedroom you can turn on the light of God in
your life and experience His touch, but sin has put a line between us and God
thereby limiting us from achieving His will. God’s touch is what we need to
change everything. Just like there is a price to be paid for electricity light,
there ia price to pay if you want to turn God’s light. All you have to do is to
accept that there is darkness within you and allow the Spirit of God to move
upon you. The scripture says that if we confess our sins, He is faithful and
just to forgive and cleanse us from all our unrighteousness’.

Answer the call to salvation today and enjoy total dominion over God’s creation. Many of us know about God more than we know Him and this is why we cannot turn Him
on in our lives. There is a difference between knowing God and knowing about
Him. God expects more than just knowing about Him from us. 1 John 1:6 says “If
we say that we have fellowship with Him and walk in darkness, we lie and do not
the truth”. He has given us a commandment to follow the light which is in Jesus
Christ through salvation. 1 John 1:7 confirms “But if we walk in the light as
He is in the light, we have fellowship one with another and the blood of Jesus
Christ His Son cleanseth us from all sin.

Jesus is the true light which lighteth every man that cometh into the world John 1:9. Let Him recharge you for an everlasting power supply. 1 John1:5 says “This then
is the message which we have heard of Him and declare unto you, that God is
light and in Him is no darkness at all. Matthew 4:16 declared, “The people who
sat in darkness saw great light, and to them which sat in the region and shadow
of death light is sprung up”. There is no usage limitation in the light of
Christ. Repent and be saved.
