All About GOD - Growing Relationships with Jesus and Others

We begin to digest food long before we taste our first bite. Our Father designed us to be able to take food and drink, no matter the state it began in, our bodies can change it into the fuel we need. Without any thought on our part, our bodies convert (food) into a absorbable form for assimilation into our system. To absorb, one definition is :to take in and utilize. To assimilate, one definition is: to convert a substance suitable for incorporation into the body and tissue. We are effected by what we take, some say you are what you eat.
So as John 6:53-56
53 Jesus told them, "I can guarantee this truth: If you don't eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you don't have the source of life in you. 54 Those who eat my flesh and drink my blood have eternal life, and I will bring them back to life on the last day. 55 My flesh is true food, and my blood is true drink. 56 Those who eat my flesh and drink my blood live in me, and I live in them.

I am better able to understand these words now. If we can’t take in the , Sacrifice of His Body, the power in His Blood, we are in trouble. So as I have meditated on this, I can see that our spirit needs to absorb and assimilate, this truth so we are “redeemed.” And eat and drink the Word, prayers, and fellowship with Holy Spirit. Building up our spirit man with all things Jesus. My goal is to come to a place where my spirit is, able to eat and drink then absorb and assimilate w/o a second thought. In other words no doubt, just faith. After this most recent battle I can not turn back. And as we “love” each other, and build each other up, His Body grows together. Hope this made sense. Grew up knowing Communion see it a little better now though.
