All About GOD - Growing Relationships with Jesus and Others

I don't know what's wrong with me, but I can't seem to get over relationships very fast.  This one was a 3 month relationship, and It's been a month and I've still had such a hard time letting go and moving on.  I haven't talked to him or seen him since then, but I am still struggling.  I changed myself and bent over backwards to please him.  Now I'm working on being happy with myself and turning my life to God.   I'm in my 20's and of course want to find someone to share the rest of my life with.  I have been righteous and following the commandments, but I still can't seem to get over what was lost.  Now that this relationship is gone I feel like I lost my chance at being married.  I know that is wrong thinking, but I don't know how to switch it. Has anyone else had this problem?  How did you heal?  I have a hard time believing that there is someone better for me, or that I deserve the best.

I didn't mean you get over in 3 months...just that you get to know them in 3 months.  It's funny but 3 month relationship can take 6 months to "get over".

Just Thank God since he was abusive that it didn't work.

Praise the Lord!

Dear Grazer,

I don't know how ling you have been in this relationship but from my observation a decision has always come within 3 months.  This may sound quick but think about it....  Didn't you know the person in about 3 months well enough to make the decision.  In management theory they say that in America, the 3 months in the time any manager has to make changes.  They are getting to know you and you them.  if you want to make changes it has to be in the 3 month window, otherwise, if you make changes after that it will cause mistrust in the environment.   Ironically this 3 month has come up in many other situations when evaluating others.

My suggestion, if it hasn't worked, move on.  her opinion is not likely to change.

God's Blessings to You.

Thanks guys, I'm feeling better already.  The guy used me and deceived me the whole way.  It is quite depressing and I'm working on healing still.  Each day God has strengthened me as I've asked for help and guidance.

I will pray for your need for a loving christian partner to share your life.  Before I found my husband, I too felt an emptiness.  I have been married for 20 years so it has been a long time ago but I still remember the disappointments and the heart ache.  It is terrible!  My God give You comfort in these trying times.
