HE WANTS TO TALK

He Wants to Talk:
Hear, O LORD, when I cry with my voice! Have mercy also upon me, and answer me. When You said, 'Seek My face,' My heart said to You, 'Your face, LORD, I will seek.' (Psalm 27:7–8)

Prayer (or talking to GOD) is one of the basics that all of us should be doing in our Christian life.

Prayer is so well represented in GOD'S Word that we could examine it from an infinite number of angles.

But we see a particularly powerful principle of prayer when we look at it through the window of David's relationship with the LORD.

Notice how David describes both his and GOD'S heart at the point of prayer.

GOD said to David, 'Seek My Face,' and David cried out, 'LORD, I will seek'.

See how they match?

That's because David's desire to pray to GOD was actually an echo of GOD'S desire to talk to David.

Here's how it works in our lives.

Have you ever had a longing deep inside of you to cry out to GOD?

I know that I have!

In those moments it's the LORD who's motivating and drawing us heavenward toward His throne.

GOD wants to talk to us, so He says, by His Spirit, 'Seek My Face,' and we should respond, 'LORD, I will seek Your Face'.

This is a powerful point because often at times we believe GOD'S too busy or preoccupied to be bothered with us.

We think, GOD has the cosmos to take care of.

Why would GOD want to bother with my puny problems?

This is so wrong.

Our urge to pray is not a matter of our inherent goodness.

Apart from GOD all of us have turned away from Him,

10; As the Scriptures say, “No one is righteous— not even one.

11; No one is truly wise;
no one is seeking God.

12; All have turned away;
all have become useless. (Romans 3:10–12)

When we desire to seek GOD'S Face, It's a matter of His Spirit tugging on our hearts because He is the One who wants to talk to us in the first place.

The next time you sense the stirring to pray,

Remember that it's the LORD'S way of telling you that He wants to talk.

Let's all remember to talk to GOD because He's the one that LOVES us and DIED for us!!

Let's take some time out of our busy day, and talk to GOD.

Let GOD know what is in your heart today!!

He will listen to what you have to say!!
