All About GOD - Growing Relationships with Jesus and Others

2 TIMOTHY 3:16   ALL SCRIPTURE IS GOD BREATHED AND IS USEFUL FOR TEACHING, REBUKING, CORRECTING AND TRAINING IN RIGHTEOUSNESS.

Clearly the Scriptures is the Christian standards in our everyday life. But it seems that interpretations of the Bible separate a lot of professing true Bible believers. Why does alot of people are interpreting the scriptures in a way that will conform to their cultures and traditions, sometimes in accordance to the law of the land? Why does human intelligence and reasoning is always  saying that when we quote God standard they are saying that its a very high standard that we will not able to follow? Is God standard low or we just came fall short of the glory of God? This world is passing away, everything is nearing decay and so our bodies but inwardy we should be new every morning; more loving, more joyful, , more peaceful, more patience, more in kindness, more in goodness, more faithful, more in gentleness and more in self control. Everything is seem to be progressing, new technology, new trend, new approaches, new music, new standards, new sins, new clothing of satan, new preference and new etc. Does God teachings and revelations progressive? Does God change or its the people change? Does people has always a change of mind and or a change in heart? Does the old standard not anymore applicable to this new generation?  Does this progressive standard just a human standard? Is God standard ever change or our preference make the changes in the very high God standard to meet our low standard? Generally not just our bodies is also approaching decay, our mind is becoming polluted and our heart becoming deceitful. We really humbly need Gods mercy and grace everyday to be victorious in our everyday task and to live in according to Gods standard.

Thanks Chris & LT for your comments but is those some called  " essentials in faith " can be the common christian standard for all those professing christians? But even those essentials i think fall short to glorify God.

Since human intellect is foolishness to God,  those approaches to Scriptures and fundamental beliefs will still fall short of the glory of God. Can we conclude that the essentials in faith and the standard we use is base on redeemed sinful man approaches to scriptures and  fundamental beliefs?  Can we conclude that with all the different christians standards we set still all of those is for Gods merit and we cannot infinitely say that the statndard we set is the right one base on God standard not base on our own knowledge and understanding? Does humbly praying and saying that our understanding and knowledge still fall short to glorify God makes us wrong or unsure of our stand?

Mt 11:30 ...my yoke is easy and my burden is light."

I have always been amazted w/ how the Word is LIving.  One day a scripture shows me one thing,

the next day same scripture shows me something else.  I believe in the Spirit of the the Word, not

always the letter.  I read a number of translations, so for me anyway, it is helpful to see the same

verse explained differently.  As far as when people water down the Word, and lead others down

a path,(may God have mercy on their souls) I believe we all have a responsiblity, to study and

meditiate on the Word.  Allow Holy Ghost to shows us what we need to see at that time.

How I see it anyway, In the Love of the Lord.

Larry,

Problems arise from various points, but all root issues. I will list a couple of reasons why people who profess to believe in Jesus do not get along.

First it has to do with approach to Scripture:

1) Liberal vs conservative and various views in-between.

2) Allegoric vs face value method of interpretation.

3) Eisegesis (Reading into the text) vs exegesis (drawing out of the text its meaning).

Fundemental beliefs:

1) What one believes about salvation, especifically what takes place or does not take place when a person gives their heart to Jesus.

2) How "being led of the Holy Spirit" is actually lived out.

3) What does one believes about the ordinances of baptism and communion (Lord's Supper).

4) End time beliefs affect how one lives and serves.

...A) Pre millennial, amillennial and post millennial.

...B) Replacement theology vs church age and God returning to His work with Israel.

5) Calvinism vs Armenianism, or another view.

6) Existence and application of the gifts today.

These are but a few of the things that divide people today. Some can have a different view and still fellowship with others who trust Jesus for salvation, and some cannot. Some items are fellowship breakers and some are not.

If only it was a simple as A-B-C, and in one sense it is, but yet again it appears to be not so simple ... or at least man has made it difficult. People in the various camps are convinced they are right.

Lord Bless,

LT
