All About GOD - Growing Relationships with Jesus and Others

h
Can you hear Him?
Listen to the podcast:
Do you believe that God has something to say to you? Depends on wha you believe about God and who he is. Never forget, God created us for relationship with him, which involves communication . . . two-way communication.
God speaks to those with whom he has relationship.
Our desire to hear God’s voice is evidence of our love for him, as Brother Lawrence so beautifully captured: "There is not in the world a kind of life more sweet and delightful than that of a continual conversation with God. Those only can comprehend it who practice and experience it; yet I do not advise you to do from that motive. It is not pleasure which we ought to seek in this exercise; but let us do it from a principle of love, and because God would have us."
We communicate in so many different ways, from email to text message to facial expressions, hugs, pats on the back, kisses and old-fashion letter writing. God expresses himself to us in different ways as well, such as through Creation – Paul wrote, “What may be known about God is manifest [made known] in them, They know the truth about God because he has made it obvious to them. For ever since the world was created, people have seen the earth and sky. Through everything God made, they can clearly see his invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature. So they have no excuse for not knowing God.”2 The psalmist talks about the heavens declaring God’s glory, speaking to us about the nature of the Creator.3
God revealed himself through the birth of Jesus Christ. Is there any louder statement than the giving of his only Son to communicate his love to mankind? No indeed not. Oh, how I love him! Therefore it is to be expected, given the revelation of God in Christ, that if he wants us to know something, he will be both able and willing to communicate to us plainly so long as we are open and able to hear ….
God wants to talk to you … Are you listening?
He will talk to you from the pages of his word as you read~
And he has certainly reveled his great love for you in a very
                  loud statement named Jesus!
Tomorrow, I open John’s gospel who gives us a front row seat for the life of Jesus.  God will speak to us and inspire us through Jesus’ words and ways in this personal account of our Good Shepherd.  It is my prayer to be able to write, podcast and email Morning Briefings from the book of John, each day a little shorter than our THRIVE briefings.
Friend, remember to listen for the voice of the Lord; look for him in the vast expanse of the skies, in the smile of a child, perhaps in the still, small voice . . . and always in the pages of scripture.
Because he loves you so,
Christine
