All About GOD - Growing Relationships with Jesus and Others

Beware the words: "I am/will Pray for you."

I am Praying for you. I will Pray for you. They sound the same but, they are not. Both, are Powerful actions. However, they can be miles apart. As we grow in the Lord, we learn that what we say matters. When we tell another that we are or will Pray for them, we are held to this. To tell someone, “I will Pray for you,” means at some point we will remember them in Prayers. To tell someone, “I am Praying for you,” is not even close to the same thing. To share with another these words, we at that point help shoulder whatever the other person is going through. This burden will weigh us down if we do not give it to God in Prayer. I will Pray for you, we at some point will pick up and help. As we are God’s Children, Holy Spirit will see to this.
As with everything in the Lord, it is NOT about us, or even the other person. It IS about Jesus Who is in us. And if not already, Lord willing will be about Jesus in the other person. Of ourselves we can do nothing! However, 1John 4:4 But you belong to God, my dear children. You have already won a victory over those people, because the Spirit who lives in you is greater than the spirit who lives in the world. If we knew only a few verses in the Bible, this one would be very beneficial. In this verse many things are covered. Faith, Power, Grace, Love, Hope, and on and on. Once we know who we are, then it does not matter about the opposition. We are told clearly where we stand. We are told who we are, how and why we have Victory, and that it is about God and the Spirit of God. The Victory and Power to live comes from and through these Two Powers, we simply receive. That is one reason why when we say, either one of those two statements, things begin to happen. “I am Praying for you,” to share those words, the Spirit of God begins to connect us. The Spirit is working through us to God and causing Victory to take place. ALL the Glory and Praise GOES to the Lord. We are just part of the mechanism.
These words; these promises, and that is what they are, can bring Hope to another. God hears them and so does the enemy. Things begin to happen after we say them. We help shoulder the burden, we all of a sudden give the enemy another target. It is not about us, but Christ Who is in us, the Spirit of God in us. As we intercede our Faith begins to work for another. All for the Glory of God. We will stand one day and give a account. We will face the Father, we will be asked, “did you Pray for them?” We will be shown; reminded, just exactly what we did.
These is another reason in my opinion why, Praying in the Spirit is so important. We are given a tool to be able to Pray for another. We do not need to know the details, God already does. The Spirit of God already knows, that is enough. Please do not get me wrong. We must Pray for others. Why be able to and not? Just when we say them, we must do what we say. This is how we help others. All that I am saying is, know that these words have Power in them. They also care a responsibility. Do not offer hope to someone else, and then blow them off. The Powers of Good and evil heard them said, and they both take action. Just remember 1John 4:4, we Do Have the Victory, we Do Have the Grace and Power. But, to say them without meaning or intention, we lie and then open the door to the enemy. This is Not what we want to do. Just follow through with what needs to be done, and all will be fine.

Well said brother, we need to pray for each other.  The thought of person's need for prayer, leads to the promise and a promise made should be fulfilled so we should pray for those we promise.

Hearing that someone will or is praying for me lifts my hopes up and I start feeling better about the situation. That someone is helping me in prayer is a sign all will be well by His grace.  It doesn't matter how many times or when that prayer is said, the Lord or the Holy Spirit, as you mentioned, immediately begins to act because it is God's will that we  pray for each other.

Thanks for sharing and God bless you.
