A STEADFAST CONFIDENT HEART

“Create in me a clean heart, O God, And renew a steadfast spirit within me.” ( Psalm 51:10 )

“My heart is confident, O God. My heart is confident. I want to sing and make music.” ( Psalm 57: 7)

“He shall not be afraid of evil tidings: his heart is fixed, trusting in the LORD.” ( Psalm112:7 )

When our heart is fixed and steadfast, it is then that we have set our hearts to live in obedience to the will of the Lord. Our hearts are firm and establish and we are ready to live in full obedience to the will of God.
Until we have a steadfast spirit within us, we will continue to go down a slippery slope in our personal life. When our hearts are fixed it is like a setting the Rutter of a a ship. Our lives will go in the direction of our hearts. We need a steadfast, fixed heart to experience confidence in our personal lives.

“Beloved, if our heart does not condemn us, we have confidence before God;” ( 1John 3;21 )

“This is the confidence which we have before Him, that, if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us.' ( 1John 5:14 )

So to have a steadfast and a confident heart we need to set our hearts on living in obedience to the Lord. Having our hearts fixed is a huge commitment for us. The Word of God says that if we love him we will keep his commandments. (1John 14:15 )

Obedience is a sure sign that our hearts are set, our hearts are fixed upon the Lord and we will be steadfast in our obedience. This is where the confidence come from. We have confidence when we know we are doing the right things. ( 1John 3:21 )

“Therefore let us draw near with confidence to the throne of grace, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.” ( Hebrews 4:16 )

So this confidence is a result of our relationship with God. We have mercy and grace.
Mercy gets a criminal off the hook and out of jail, but GRACE pays the debt of the criminal and sets him free to enjoy the good life. For us that also means LIFE,and LIFE eternal.

In Psalm 51:10, David was praying that his heart would become clean and also steadfast. He had set his heart on an alternate course that led him into horrible sin; immorality, deception, and murder. It wasn't until Nathan the prophet confronted him that he finally led him to reset the course of his life.

PRAYER
Father God you know that we as your children desire us to have a steadfast, and a confident hearts that is fixed on living in obedience to your good and perfect will.
Help us to set our hearts in obedience to your Word. Help us not to set our heart toward sin and disobedience . As David prayed, “Create in us a steadfast heart.” Help us to fix our hearts always on living in obedience to your will. In Jesus name. Amen.

Charles I have found that memorizing scripture has been a real blessing to me. Although my thinking gets away from me at times (every day) I have the Word to reel me back in. I find that I have a much tougher time dealing with my emotions. Because I have a steadfast heart for God it keeps me from going off to far in my emotional realm also. It is just so hard when we are dealing with family issues to not loose it. I tend to get really emotional if some one in my family isn't being considerate of the other member needs. God help me to do the right thing no matter how i think or feel, amen!
